PRODUCT NAME: 8 Figure Dream Lifestyle (FDL)

OWNER/S: Scott Miller

TYPE OF PRODUCT: digital marketing MLM

PRICE: $2k + up sells and other packages upto $22k

SUMMARY: Honestly I think that although right now it hasn’t officially been named a pyramid scheme by the FTC, the number of signs it shows that correlate with a pyramid scheme make it an absolute no go for anyone who wants to make money online.

The pay to play compensation plan it uses, the insanely expensive costs to start up and the lack of an income disclosure statement all add to the reasons why I believe FDL is a pyramid scheme as well as a scam and is something that everyone should avoid if they’re looking for an online money making opportunity.

FINAL RATING: 0/5

RECOMMENDED: NO!!

WHAT IS 8 FIGURE DREAM LIFESTYLE?

8 figure dream lifestyle logo

FDL is a MLM company founded by Scott Miller, who actually is someone’s who’s created and been exposed for creating ponzi scheme called TelexFree.

So, this obviously doesn’t make FDL seem all that trustworthy and this doubt is further amplified by the lack of any information on what the company sells.

To be honest my first impressions from the name to the owner and his background really don’t add much to the companies credibility but, I didn’t want to judge this internet marketing/MLM opportunity just through my initial impressions so, that’s why I decided to take deeper dive to see what exactly it had on offer.

Firstly, I do want to say that I’ve reviewed quit a lot of MLM’s and internet marketing on this website such as :

Which is why I do believe I have a solid on grasp on what makes a good or a bad MLM company.

WHAT ARE THE PRODUCTS AND HOW DO YOU GET STARTED

The weird thing about this MLM is that you’re not really told anything regarding what you can buy within their sign up and landing pages, in order to see all of that, you need to first sign up to the system and let me tell you, that’s going to be a very expensive thing to do

However, I did do a bit of research on my own and found out that in order to get started with the company you will mostly be directed towards their 5 main packages which includes the following :

  1. Basic Membership ($2,000 plus $195 admin fee ) : This package consists of a series on meditation, marketing modules, flyers, law of attraction, self-esteem tips etc.
  2. Builder Package ($3,500 plus $295 admin fee) : The builder package is obviously a lot more expensive and consists of training material for the fitness niche, how to lose weight, material on motivation and so on.
  3. Advanced Package ($6,500 plus $395 admin fee) : This package includes 25 training videos on how to drive traffic to a sales page along with what you find in the other 2 packages (at least I would hope so)
  4. Pro Package ($12,500 plus $445 admin fee) : This package includes training on how to use YouTube for traffic, email marketing, list building, hosting webinars, and more
  5. VIP Package ($22,000 plus $495 admin fee) : And finally the VIP package includes “blueprints” for webinars, podcasts, video sales, email copy, and social media.

As you can clearly see, getting started with FDL is not going to be cheap whatsoever, in fact you’d be taking a huge risk even if you consider purchasing even the basic membership because in my eyes it doesn’t even remotely seem like good value for money, even if there is the small possibility that the training is good.

But the even crazier thing is that the main premise behind FDL is mostly to get you to promote the system to others and not necessarily learn how to create your own business and essentially become independent.

Beyond the really expensive packages, you’ll likely also be sold on some other resources tool by your direct up line which are supposedly meant to make the business easier for you, these tools include :

  1. Phone Dialer System – Pay as needed, $500/week on average
  2. Texting System – Pay as needed, $50/month on average
  3. Email (Aweber) – $19/month
  4. Funnel/Website – $95/month
  5. Virtual Assistant – $250/month

I’m sure you kind of see the business model here right? FDL and the up line essentially want to suck you dry of any money you have and although I do believe that spending money can quicken the process to an extent, a lot of what FDL is trying to teach you is something that you could easily learn for a lot cheaper or even for free if you know what you’re doing.

In fact you could also learn quite a bit on how to make money online through my make money online guide if you’re curious.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

The compensation plan is an unilevel structure so you can essentially get loads of memebers within your team horizontally and I’m sure that there’s probably a limit to the number of levels your team can have but I digress.

The company uses a tier system which looks like this :

  1. Tier 1 — $2000
  2. Tier 2 — $3500
  3. Tier 3 — $6500
  4. Tier 4 — $12,500
  5. Tier 5 — $22,000

In order to get the most out of the company, you need to be at the highest level tier as in you’ll need to have purchased the highest level package that FDL has to offer, which of course would be the $22k VIP package.

What this means is that say for example you had only the basic package and one of your downline members bought a builder package, you actually wouldn’t be eligible to get the compensation and instead what would happen is that the commission would move up your up line until someone who has unlocked the correct tier shows up, which is tier 2 and above.

So essentially, FDL’s compensation plan is pay to play which is actually a very big issue because its the same model that MLM’s that got shut down (Mobe, digital altitude) used. Both used the 1 up commison kind of plan and it obviously wasn’t something the FTC approved of.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Uses A Pay To Play Compensation Plan And Shows Signs Of A Pyramid Scheme!!

The compensation plan and the way that members get paid out is through the use of a pay to play program or pass up commission program which is something that has been exposed by the FTC as being illegal.

Firstly the two major scandals in the MLM business sector that got shut for using this exact model include Mobe and digital altitude and the reason why they got shut down beyond just their compensation plan was because they didn’t actually sell any real products.

Everything sold was digital and the same applies for FDL too, as it also only sells digital products. This similarity to Mobe is, at least in my eyes, is a very tell tale sign that FDL probably is going to be sued and shut down by the FTC in the future so I wouldn’t ever recommend you join it.

Insanely Expensive To Get Started

Another similarity between Mobe and FDL is that both MLM’s also sell insanely expensive packages to their customers, reaching the $20k range. Obviously that’s only the highest end package but, even the baisc package will run you down nearly $2.5k so it’s far from being an internet marketing course worth recommending.

This is because it’s just way to expensive for the average person to ever consider spending so much money on something that comes off as shady and shows some very stark similarities to a company that’s already been shut down for running as an illegal pyramid scheme.

No Disclosure Showing How Good People Are Doing

I couldn’t find an income disclosure statement for FDL but, I’m pretty certain that the large of people probably aren’t doing all that great.

The reason why I say that is because the income disclosure statements from other MLM’s I’ve reviewed like xyngular, ARIIX, max International, scentsy all show that barely 5% of members are making around $1k a month whilst generally only 1-2% of members make $2k or more on a monthly basis.

Of course this is just an educated assumption but, I doubt that the number of successful members will be an higher than these percentages.

THE GOOD THINGS

There’s is honestly absolutely nothing positive that I can say about FDL, in my eyes it’s just something that no one should invest in whatsoever.

IS 8 FIGURE DREAM LIFESTYLE A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

Honestly I think that although right now it hasn’t officially been named a pyramid scheme by the FTC, the number of signs it shows that correlate with a pyramid scheme make it an absolute no go for anyone who wants to make money online.

The pay to play compensation plan it uses, the insanely expensive costs to start up and the lack of an income disclosure statement all add to the reasons why I believe FDL is a pyramid scheme as well as a scam and is something that everyone should avoid if they’re looking for an online money making opportunity.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or SCAMS.

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding FDL , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about FDL and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments.

Thanks

Amhil
