PRODUCT NAME: Total Life Changes (TLC)
OWNER/S: Jack Fallon
TYPE OF PRODUCT: health and wellness MLM
PRICE: $39.95 +$40/Month autoship
SUMMARY: The good news is that TLC is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it’s actually a legitimate MLM business opportunity.
However, there are quite a few issues I have with it such as the necessity to recruit and face to face sell in order to succeed, the annoying monthly autoship which could result in stockpiling issues, the negative side effect some of the ingredients used within the products have and the really low income potential.
All of the reasons mentioned above are why I would suggest you skip TLC but, if you’re serious about joining, it could still work out great for you although I wouldn’t really get my hopes up.
FINAL RATING: 2/5

WHAT IS TOTAL LIFE CHANGES?
Total Life Changes is a health and wellness MLM founded by Jack Fallon in 1999, making it pretty long standing and established company.
The company’s vision is to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle through their affordable and natural products whilst also providing a profitable business opportunity to pursue.
It’s a pretty generic and basic vision but, it’s definitely nothing too extravagant or bad in anyway. Due to its age, the company has become a very global institution, now spread throughout 140 different countries with 49k+ distributors worldwide. In 2018 they also managed to generate $88 million in revenue so it’s also bringing in the big bucks.
So, in short, the company does have a lot going for it but, whether or not it’s worth becoming a distributor for them is a different matter entirely.
Just so you know, I’ve reviewed a ton of MLM’s on this website such as :
- Organo Gold
- Javita
- Jeunesse
- Copy profit success global
- Evolution travel
- Youngevity
- Modere
- Shaklee etc.
Which is why I believe I have a pretty solid grasp on what makes a good or bad MLM opportunity.

TOTAL LIFE CHANGES’ PRODUCT LINE
TLC have a very broad range of products with some of their major product categories including :
- Health and Wellness
- Beauty and Hygiene
- Coffee and Tea
- Essential oil
If you want to check out the specific products for each category yourself, click here.
As for the company’s flagship product, its called Iaso Tea.
This tea has a few acclaimed benefits which includes :
- Detoxification
- Relieving indigestion
- Reducing inflammation
- Improving skin health
- And of course, helps greatly with weight loss.
The product itself appears to come with a 5 day program to help you lose weight but, in general, it doesn’t appear very stand out as a product. It is just tea afterall meaning your overall satisfaction will be decided on how much you like the taste.
DO TOTAL LIFE CHANGES PRODUCTS ACTUALLY WORK?
I can’t personally answer this question for you because I’ve never tried out any of TLC’s products but, I did do a bit of research to see what others thought and this is what I found.
On bbb it seems like the majority of individuals who used the products found them to be very good with the overwhelming majority finding that the products actually helped with their health as well as helped customers lose weight.
The overview regarding the products, in general, are very positive so if you do decide to become a distributor and sell the products, although the products aren’t guaranteed to work for everyone, it does seem to genuinely work and produce positive results for most.
HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY THROUGH TOTAL LIFE CHANGES?
As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, TLC being no exception.
1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales
2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.
HOW TO GET STARTED
In order to become a distributor for TLC there are a couple fees and resources that you’ll need to buy. The first thing you’ll need to pay for is the Business kit which will set you back $39.95. The second fee that you’ll need to pay is the autoship which will cost you $40/month.
By doing so you’ll be able to become eligible to earn from the company’s compensation plan. As a distributor you actually get a discount of 50% on all products meaning, you essentially make a 100% commission on every product that you manage to sell, which is definitely a nice profit.
On top of the starter kit, there are also 3 starter packs that you can choose to buy, these packs include the following :
- Basic Builder Pack priced at $104.95
- Professional Pack priced at $154.95
- Entrepreneur Pack priced at $309.95
This means, at the very least, you will need to invest $519.95 in order to become a distributor for TLC, which honestly isn’t that bad at all. Of course your up line will probably push you to buy one of the more expensive starter packages, which I’m sure overall will increase you costs but, even in that case TLC is definitely a fairly cheap MLM to do business with.
Of course $500 isn’t really small but, over the span of a year, it’s a lot less of a burden to upkeep over its competitors which tend to cost, usually around $1k+ to upkeep for the year.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
TLC uses a binary structure for its compensation plan which is basically where your downline team is separated into 2 different legs, a left and a right one that tend to act independently to each other (to an extent)
As for the plan as a whole, it’s imperative that you learn it if you decide to join because it shows you all of the different methods that you can use to earn through TLC.
I’ll briefly go over them now :
- Retail commissions : You’ll make a 50% retail commissions on all products sold directly. You’ll also generate PV at a 25% rate which is added to the stronger leg in your downline team
- Fast Start Bonus : You’ll be able to earn a 50% bonus for recruiting new members with 25% of the PV generated paid in binary commissions
- Residual Binary Bonus : This is just residual commissions paid out at the end of a payable month. The results will likely be better the bigger your downline team
- Binary Commissions Match : This is a 50% matching bonus paid out on a distributor’s binary earnings for every new distributor that signs up through them.
- Corporate Expenses Account : The amount that’s meant to be paid out in this bonus is not disclosed but, we are told that individuals can earn up to $1k in cash.
- Car Bonus : TLC’s car bonus appears to be a cash payout.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS
You Will Need To Recruit To Succeed
As TLC is a MLM company, recruiting is going to play a major part on whether you succeed or not. Face to face selling will also be something you’ll need to learn and get good at too if you don’t already know how.
The compensation plan makes it pretty clear that the better you are at recruiting, the better your potential as a distributor and of course the more money you’ll make in the long run.
So, if you’re not up for learning how to get good at recruitment or if you’re not willing to learn how to do so, whether it be through online means or face to face, being a TLC distributor probably isn’t going to be the best business opportunity to pursue.
Possible Side Effect From Ganoderma Plant
The ganoderma plant ingredient found within some of the products seems to have side effects that you probably won’t enjoy.
The plant is a natural blood thinner that prevents a person’s blood from clotting properly and may lead to intestinal bleeding and platelet dysfunction. Other side effects include diarrhea, constipation, itching, rashes and body pain.
Of course the side effects that you may fall victim to will depend on the concentration of the ingredient and as far as I’ve seen, there doesn’t seem to be any major cases where the side effects have occurred but, I think it’s worth noting that this herb could be a problem.
Monthly Autoship Could Result In Stockpiling
Because you have to purchase a new product every month, it could potentially result in you stockpiling products if you aren’t able to sell them.
I can’t say that this is the worst of problems because you’re not really required to purchase tons and tons of products due to the $40 minimum but, the monthly autoship is still very annoying because it’s needed in order to actually be able to earn from the company.
Really Low Income Potential
On this income disclaimer page by TLC, it claims that out of the 20,670 only 10,355 and 3509 earned regularly every month.
It states that only 1% of all first year distributors (roughly 140) are making around at $1,853 on average for the whole year whilst out of all the other distributors the top 1% aren’t even making a full time. They seem to on average be making $14,471 in 2019 which definitely is not good.
This is actually worse than the numbers I’ve seen from other MLM’s for example like arbonne, xyngular, nucerity etc. whom seem to on average thier top 1% make a full time income (around $2k/month).
As a result this really low success rate does make TLC come across as a great opportunity to pursue and it also has low income potential too because of it.
THE GOOD THINGS
It’s Been Around A While
Having been around since 1999, TLC is 20 years old now. When you take into account how most companies fail within 10 years, TLC being around for as long as it has really does give it quite a bit of credibility
The Products Have Helped People Lose Weight
Another good thing about TLC is that the products have actually helped some customers achieve weight loss success so, this is obviously a good thing because it does show that TLC aims to create products that genuinely work.

IS TOTAL LIFE CHANGES A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?
The good news is that TLC is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it’s actually a legitimate MLM business opportunity.
HOW I MAKE MONEY ONLINE
Although MLM’s have created its fair share of millionaires over the years, more often than not when it comes to training newbies and teaching them how to succeed in the biz, they tend to be very lacklustre…
This is why so many people tend to fail!
Therefore, personally I would suggest you look into creating your own brand, particularly through a website, whilst ultimately getting involved in my #1 money making method online as a result.
If you’re curious as to what my #1 make money online method online is, it’s affiliate marketing!
By having your own website and essentially driving targeted traffic to it, not only can you sell whatever MLM product you want, it’s also possible to sell other products too without even purchasing stock.
By doing this not only would you make extra commission per sale but you also won’t need to worry about fulfilling orders for customers and dealing with their potential complaints!
I’ve personally made over $100 in a day as a result of implementing affiliate marketing to my online business!
Here’s a screenshot of one specific payment
Others have made way more than me but, the fact of the matter is that it works, which is why I would highly recommend you look into it.
If you’re intrigued by the potential of affiliate marketing, I’ve put together a very in-depth guide diving into what affiliate marketing is, how long it takes to make your first bit of income along with how to effectively grow your online business and maintain its income.
