Norwex Is A Scam?! (A Pyramid Scheme EXPOSED!?)

It’s likely that you have come across Norwex through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Norwex a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Norwex review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Norwex. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Norwex so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Norwex that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Norwex

OWNER/S: Bjørn Nicolaisen

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Cleaning and Personal Care MLM

PRICE: $200 + $250 every 3 months

SUMMARY : The good news is that Norwex isn’t a scam or a pyramid scheme, I personally consider it to be a legitimate MLM company however there are a few things that I don’t like about it.

The fact you need to recruit to succeed, the many annoying elements to actually staying an active member which includes a recurring fee of $250 every month and the lack of an income disclosure statement shows a lack of transparency and is probably also a big reason why you should believe the success rate is likely to be very low.

There may actually be some potential to being a Norwex consultant however, I personally don’t think it’s the most beginner friendly or even a sustainable business opportunity to pursue, which is why I recommend you avoid it. Of course if you still want to join Norwex, there is still that small chance that you could succeed.

FINAL RATING: 1.5/5

RECOMMENDED: NO

WHAT IS NORWEX?

Norwex logo

Norwex is a MLM company that focuses on the eco-friendly cleaning products and was founded by Bjørn Nicolaisen in 1994. Borjan founded the company after he discovered a microfiber cloth that was really good at cleaning his windshield with just water.

After this discovery he decided to further his library of products by creating a plethora of other cleaning items that could clean using only water and from then onwards Norwex was born.

Although Norwex started in the cleaning sector, over the years it has diversified the business model and now also operates in the personal care sector.

Before continuing on, just so you can at least somewhat trust my opinion on Norwex, I have previously talked about many I’ve other MLM’s on this website such as :

Which is why I believe I have a pretty solid grasp on what makes a good or bad MLM opportunity.

 NORWEX’S PRODUCT LINE

Norwex has a very large collection of products which includes :

Norwex products

  • Deodorant
  • Kitchen towels
  • Laundry detergent
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dusting mist
  • Wool dryer balls
  • Cleaning paste and a bunch more

If you want to check out the rest of the product line for yourself click here.

As for their flagship product, it’s called Envirocloth and it’s claimed to be an anti bacterial fiber that can attract dirt, grease, dust and breakdown grime that would usually require chemicals to breakdown.

This is all meant to be accomplished through just the use of water and the Envirocloth. I’m not going to lie, at first this whole aspect of cleaning without using any chemicals did come off as unbelievable but, there is an explanation for how it works.

How Norwex envirocloth works

The image above explains how it’s meant to work, you can take it as you want to but in my eyes at least this shows that Envirocloth does some legitimacy to its claims.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY THROUGH THE PRODUCT

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Norwex being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

On the website you’re told that you’ll be able to get their starter kit and supposedly become a member for free however, there is a catch here, the starter kit isn’t free, in fact you’ll need to have spent and bought at least $2k worth of products before you’d be able to get the “starter kit”.

Well that’s if you want it for free, the kit’s only a free addition if you spend $2k within 90 days. The starter kit separately will cost you $200.

Furthermore, in order to stay as an active distributor for Norwex you will also be required to sell $250 of products within 3 months.

If you fail to accomplish this through your customers, you will likely be required to buy it yourself. Considering is very hard to for most you’ll more than likely need to reach into you wallet again to become a member and well… This is one of the main reasons why I’m not too keen on Norwex.

A few other things you should keep notice of is that if you’re unable to make the $250 fee to remain active, you’ll need to pay a fee to reactivate the account and if do not manage to make any sales within 12 months, you’ll no longer be considered a Norwex consultant.

Clearly Norwex’s membership requirements are quite extensive, especially when compared to other MLM’s so if you decide to join it, you better be prepared to go all in or risk just wasting your time.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

One way that you can benefit through Norwex’s compensation plan is through direct selling however, one thing I don’t like about this aspect of the business is that you’ll essentially be hosting parties to try and entice your friends and family to join under you and eventually bring them into the market or risk your relationship with them.

Direct selling is only one part of Norwex, in terms of how much you make per sale, you’ll actually get a 35% commission for every sale which translates to you making a $35 profit for every $100 worth of items you sell.

If you want a detailed look at the compensation plan because you’re seriously considering this opportunity I’d suggest watching the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You Will Need To Recruit To Succeed

Recruitment is an important aspect for any MLM out there and Norwex of course is no different.

In Norwex’s case they try to push you to promote their products to family and friends however, this isn’t going to be a very effective or even sustainable strategy because if these family members or friends dislike what you’re doing and if you’re constantly trying to sell to them, it’s very possible your relationship with them could become very strained.

Although you could maybe make a full time income through just the direct selling aspect of the company, it’s very unlikely that most people will succeed in such a way so, having a big downline/team is pretty much going to be the only way you’ll even have a glimmer of achieving full time income status with Norwex.

If you either don’t have the skill or if you’re not willing to learn how to become a good recruiter, you definitely should give this business opportunity a pass because recruitment is without doubt one of if not the most important aspect to succeeding with the MLM model, Norwex being no exception.

Sustaining The Membership Requires A Lot Of Work

There are a lot of elements to the membership that is required of you which I consider to be some what of a handful.

The first thing you’ll need to do is spend $200 for the starter kit and then somehow manage to make $250 in sales every 3 months from then onwards. Most people might struggle making this much in sales when starting out so, it’s highly probable  they’d need to spend their own money to remain an active distributor.

This is also so that they don’t have to deal with the reactivation fee for failing to keep their Norwex account active. Furthermore, there is the element regarding your consultant rank being revoked if you don’t meet the $250 once within a 12 months time frame.

Either way, unless you are managing to make a good amount of sales and hopefully profit (which is easier said than done), these requirements shouldn’t pose to much of a problem for you but, if you’re unable to make the sales or only a portion of it, not only will you be stockpiling merchandise, you’ll also be getting sucked dry of your own money just to remain active.

No Income Disclosure Statement

The lack of an income disclosure statement makes it difficult for me to concretely state this but, I’m pretty certain you won’t be succeeding if you decided to sign up and become a consultant for Norwex.

Based of other MLM companies like xyngular, inteletravel, lyoness, isagenix, nerium, beautycounter etc. generally only 5% of members are making anything half decent at $1k per month whilst generally less than 1% of people are making $2k+ per month or I guess you could say a full time income.

There may be the off chance that the success rate is slightly higher but, if it actually was higher why wouldn’t Norwex release an income statement then right? So yeah I’m extremely doubtful you’ll make very much money with Norwex let alone replace your full time income.

THE GOOD THINGS

It’s Been Around A While

Having been around since 1994, it’s longevity does add quite a bit of credibility to Norwex. Although this doesn’t mean it’s the best MLM you could be involved with, it being 25 years old at this point must mean it’s doing something correct right?

60 Day Satisfaction Guarantee

It’s always nice when a money back guarantee is put in place for the customers benefit so the fact Norwex also has one is a positive in my books.

Of course MLM money back guarantees aren’t always legitimately guarantees so, I wouldn’t suggest putting your complete faith on it despite its availability.

HOW I MAKE MONEY ONLINE

Although MLM’s have created its fair share of millionaires over the years, more often than not when it comes to training newbies and teaching them how to succeed in the biz, they tend to be very lacklustre…

This is why so many people tend to fail!

Therefore, personally I would suggest you look into creating your own brand, particularly through a website, whilst ultimately getting involved in my #1 money making method online as a result.

If you’re curious as to what my #1 make money online method online is, it’s affiliate marketing!

By having your own website and essentially driving targeted traffic to it, not only can you sell whatever MLM product you want, it’s also possible to sell other products too without even purchasing stock.

By doing this not only would you make extra commission per sale but you also won’t need to worry about fulfilling orders for customers and dealing with their potential complaints!

I’ve personally made over $100 in a day as a result of implementing affiliate marketing to my online business!

Here’s a screenshot of one specific payment

Others have made way more than me but, the fact of the matter is that it works, which is why I would highly recommend you look into it.

If you’re intrigued by the potential of affiliate marketing, I’ve put together a very in-depth guide diving into what affiliate marketing is, how long it takes to make your first bit of income along with how to effectively grow your online business and maintain its income.
