It’s likely that you have come across Powerhouse Affiliate through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.
Is Powerhouse Affiliate a scam? If you’re serious about delving in to the online space through affiliate marketing but, more so through paid means, PA does seem like a very appealing offer however, there’s also the chance it’s useless too. That’s why it makes sense to be a little skeptical and hopefully this review helps you out.
First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to purchasing or joining Powerhouse Affiliate. For all you could have known, Powerhouse Affiliate may very well be a scam and rob you of your money so this review could help you find anything peculiar about it.
To be totally transparent with you I haven’t used Powerhouse Affiliate so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you on it unless of course it’s worth investing in.
What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party review of Powerhouse Affiliate that will hopefully help you to make the correct decision in the end.
PRODUCT NAME: Powerhouse Affiliate (PA)
OWNER/S: Joey Babineau
TYPE OF PRODUCT: Affiliate marketing training course
PRICE: Free for one course. $47 a month to access all courses.
SUMMARY: Powerhouse Affiliate is not a scam, in fact I’d say that it’s a solid affiliate marketing course. The only thing that I’d say will turn a lot of you off is the fact that it’s also focused on CPA marketing which of course means that you will need to spend quite a bit of money to see results.
That’s why unless you’re comfortable doing that as a newbie or if you’re already experienced in the affiliate marketing field, PA may be worth checking out. Otherwise, if you’re still wanting to learn affiliate marketing that covers both the free and paid for methods in generating traffic, my #1 Recommendation is definitely the better option of the two.
FINAL RATING: 3.5/5
RECOMMENDED: No (better option available)
WHAT IS POWERHOUSE AFFILIATE?
Powerhouse Affiliate is an affiliate marketing course mostly focused on CPA marketing aka paid ads and was developed in 2012 by a successful affiliate marketer named Joey Babineau.
He created this course to teach others the techniques and strategies that he personally used to develop successful CPA campaigns that he eventually managed to make quite a bit of money through and has for around a decade now, been involved in the Internet marketing space, far away from the rat race.
I’ve reviewed many products on this site like :
So I think I should have a fairly decent opinion on what makes a good product and a not so good product.
WHAT DO GET IN POWERHOUSE AFFILIATES MEMBERSHIP AREA?
PA actually has 2 different membership levels, the first is the free levels and the second is their premium package.
I’ve got to say, the fact PA have a free system in place is definitely very cool, at the very least if you’re not liking the look of what’s offered, you don’t necessarily have to stick around and it’s definitely a breath of fresh air that Power affiliate has opted to go this route.
As it is a free membership anyone’s welcome to check what they have to offer, in this package you’ll be given access to the following resources :
Within this membership level, you will receive an affiliate certificate course which will provide you with info on the 5 following aspects :
- How to choose niches and products via affiliate networks
- How to choose your domain name and where to host your website
- How to create blogs and landing pages
- How to track your pages
- How to get free traffic from Facebook.
As you can see you’ll essentially learn the basics of affiliate marketing and the basics of creating content for your website. Of course as it is just the basic section, you won’t get a ton of value from it if you’re already somewhat knowledgeable about affiliate marketing.
Nevertheless, as a newbie it should set you on the right trajectory.
As for the premium membership you’ll be given access to all the the courses so, as there are 7 modules altogether within PA, as a premium member you’ll be given access to the other 6 modules.
- Powerhouse Affiliate Marketing : This mouldule covers 10 different areas which basically go into more depth on what’s taught in the starter membership
- Affiliate Business Builder : This module provides over the shoulder video training on how to set up your affiliate marketing business fast and easily along with telling you about some tools that will help you with your success.
- CPA Display Academy : This area will talk about live campaigns using Facebook ads. You’ll also be shown examples of the landing pages that Joey uses to profilt from. This also comes in both a 2.5 hour webinar format or a 10 step text format.
- CPA Cash Vault 3.0 : This is an 8 part lesson teaching you how to create and build an email list along with teaching you how to create a good marketing funnel. In order to actually benefit from this module you’ll need to look into a thrid party autoresponder like converkit or mail chimp etc.
- Website Traffic Certification : You’ll be taught how to generate traffic to your website. It’ll teach you about how to get the traffic through paid means but, it does also provide a little bit of information on free methods. Do bare in mind that PA is a CPA based affiliate training course therefore, its main methods lie within that sphere so do expect to be spending money.
- 5 Phase Email List Building : This is another course diving into email marketing, it’s essentially a 5 step module teaching you how to build a list.
You’ll also be provided with a couple of other benefits too :
- 6 months free hosting
- Forum is available if you want to ask any questions
As you can see the premium membership does have a lot of information to offer however, it is content mostly focused on CPA marketing, which of course means you will need to spend money to implement the tactics.
If you have money and are willing to spend it to experiment with the methods taught within the course, it may be worth checking PA out even as a newbie but, in my opinion, the content here should really only be used by more experienced Internet marketers.
IS POWERHOUSE AFFILIATE’S TRAINING ANY GOOD?
Considering that the training is provided by someone who actually knows about CPA marketing you should hope that the training is actually good right?
The good news is that it is but there are a few limitations that may affect the experiences that some individuals may have with PA, especially newbies.
The first issue is that it’s teaching you how to generate leads through the paid for ads. This of course means you need a decent amount of capital to experiment with techniques and methods taught within the course. If you’re not up for spending a fair bit of money, PA probably won’t be the right thing to invest in for now.
The other issue, in my opinion, is the lack of any solid training on how you should write and create content for the affiliate products you’re trying to promote.
Have you ever heard of the term content is key?
Well in reality it kind of is and considering how your content, whether it be a reveiw or any other kind of content, the ads will all in the end be directed to the page you’re trying to promote. So if the content is poorly written, it’ll be pretty hard to convince someone to buy what you’re recommending even if it is good.
The email list will obviously be an awesome tool to have once you’ve got it going but, in order to convince people to sign up, you’ll need some solid content to go with it.
These are the only things I guess you could say PA needs to improve on but, besides that it’s pretty good. The forum is also a nice touch as through it, you may be able to get answers to any issues you’re having.
POWERHOUSE AFFILIATE’S AFFILATE PROGRAM
If you’re interested, PA does have it’s own affiliate program although it’s kind of unique in the way the payouts work. PA’s affiliate program is actually a 3 tiered system that works kind of like an MLM’s structure.
The plan works as so:
- Tier 1 Commission Payout : You get a 50% commission when a person you initially referred upgrades as a Premium Member. As long as the person stays a Premium Member, you’ll be paid out on a monthly basis, basically a residual based affiliate income.
- Tier 2 Commission Payout : You’ll get a 10% commission when a person you directly referred refers someone to the program who then upgrades to a Premium Membership.
- Tier 3 Commission Payout : You’ll be paid out a 5% commission when your Tier 2 Member refers a person who then upgrades to a Premium Membership.
The affiliate program does seem to have some potential so it’s definitely worth promoting PA if you actually like it for what it is and feel that others might like it too.
THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS
You Will Need A Decent Amount Of Capital To Get Started
Considering how this entire course is based around paid advertising or CPA marketing, whatever you want to call, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll be needing to invest quite a bit of money to bear the fruits of your labour.
Of course you won’t always be needing to spend thousands for a single ad campaign but there’s no doubt that you’ll be spending money.
Even with all the strategies taught, you’ll still probably be making a fair few loses before you start seeing any success. If you’re able to handle this burden, then the course should prove useful.
This reason alone is why most newbies will likely stray away from the premium membership, to me, it’s probably going to be more effective for someone who’s been doing affiliate marketing for around a year or so and has the fundamentals on lockdown.
You’re Not Really Taught How To Produce High Quality Content
To be fair, if you just look at other blogs within whatever niche you decide to delve into, you’ll be able to see what kind of format that they use and essentially mimic the format for your own content but, the lack of any really meaningful training might prove to be a hurdle if you purchase PA and don’t know how to write good content.
Then again this isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world and for the most part getting the hang of writing good content will take a bit of time. Nonetheless, there are a couple things such as how to position your affiliate links and what not which probably could’ve easily been included within the modules.
It Doesn’t Have A Yearly Payment Option
If you’re serious about joining PA and are intending to ustilse all the resources it provides, don’t you think it makes sense to have a yearly plan instead of just monthly?
This way at least the serious members would get some kind of discount. In the end of the day I don’t think it’s the worst thing that it’s not added but, it definitely would be a nice addition if PA did have yearly payment plan in place.
THE GOOD THINGS
Appealing Affiliate Program
The affiliate program that PA offer is definitely very appealing in my eyes. Most programs would only have a one tier system where only your direct refferals actually make you affiliate commissions whether it be a one time or residual.
The fact that you can make some extra commissions depending on how well your referrals do and their refferals do is definitely a nice added bonus.
Generally I don’t like tier based systems as it is synonymous with MLM’s and usually entails that the only way to succeed is through recruiting.
Of course you could probably make good money just getting affiliate sales for PA however, PA’s main goal is more so in teaching you how to promote any kind of affiliate program and not just their own.
So in essence you don’t necessarily need to “recruit to succeed” with PA, it’s affiliate program is just a nice added bonus if you ever do decide to promote it.
It’s Free To Get Started With
It is free to actually join so if for some reason you don’t like it after you’ve joined, you won’t need to worry about having to spend money on it if you don’t want to.
Although the free membership is pretty basic, it’s still pretty decent and should give a fairly good idea of what affiliate marketing is and what niches are.
I definitely can’t knock this addition for being awful, besides even if it was poor in it’s quality, it is still FREE!
The Course Is Solid!
The course as a whole is solid and does provided a good amount of. In depth knowledge on the art of CPA marketing so, if that’s initially why you decided to look into PA, it may very well be a good fit for your needs.
However, if you’re a newbie who’s trying to get into affiliate marketing but aren’t willing to spend to a lot of money, yet, to get results, my #1 Recommendation might be the way to go.
IS POWERHOUSE AFFILIATE A SCAM?
No, Powerhouse Affiliate is not a scam, it’s definitely a Legit product that provides a lot of knowledge and value for anyone who may be interested in CPA marketing.
However, in my opinion, it’s definitely not the most beginner friendly methods for affiliate marketers due to the fact that you will need decent capital to put all the training into action. The only other major issue I have with the course is that it doesn’t have solid training on content creation but, bedsides these two points it’s a good course.
If you’re a little experienced in affiliate marketing or just don’t mind spending a fair bit of money to practise everything the course teaches now, it may very well be worth it for you however, for everyone else and even for those interested in PA, I can’t really say it’s my #1 Recommendation for affiliate marketing training.
My personal recommendation also teaches you how to use paid for ads yet it also teaches you how to do so much more which is why I feel it is just an overall better package than Powerhouse affiliate.
MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION
Powerhouse Affiliate has its perks and appears to be a solid course on teaching you how to do affiliate marketing through CPA ads and email marketing but, it’s not the best affiliate marketing course out there unlike my #1 recommendation.
The reason why I say this is because the course that I recommend is a all inclusive affiliate marketing course which means it pretty much provides all the training and tools (besides a couple exceptions like autorepsonders and premium themes) to do well in the affiliate marketing stratosphere.
The tools and training you’ll receive include
- Free hosting
- A Free Membership Option
- Live Chat
- Hundreds of Training Lessons Created By The Creators And The Successful Affiliates In The Community
- Weekly Webinars
- And a Pretty Great Affiliate Program
The base method taught in here actually revolves around using free traffic methods to eventually create successful affiliate marketing business although, in the future you could also use their training of paid methods to generate leads too.
Powerhouse Affiliate is great for what it offers but, if you want to get involved in something that is significantly better in training that it offers as well as the support of a highly active community all at $49/month or $359/year, my #1 Recommendation is definitely the way to go.
Don’t forget that you’ll actually be given access to 20 free lesson if you sign up and there’s no requirement to put in your credit card details either.
If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Powerhouse Affiliate, feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Powerhouse Affiliate and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments.
