PRODUCT NAME: Wellness Biosciences RX (WB)

OWNER/S: Barry Cocheu and Sean M. Baker

TYPE OF PRODUCT: health & wellness MLM

PRICE: $195+

SUMMARY: Overall, from what I’ve seen and researched, WB is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it is a legitimate MLM company however, there are a few issues that wouldn’t make it the best MLM company or business opportunity to join, in my perspective at least.

The need to recruit in order to succeed, the expensive start up costs, the issues with Barry’s past and the high chance of failure within the industry as a whole.

Unless you’ve got a solid lead generation business strategy that can bring you solid leads on autopilot or if you’re some kind of expert on face to face sales, I personally would not recommend joining WB.

WHAT IS WELLNESS BIOSCIENCES RX? Wellness biosciences rx logo

WB is a health and wellness based MLM company focuses mostly on the CBD based nutritional supplements sector of that specific niche.

The company was founded by Barry Cocheu and Sean M. Baker (I’m asumming in 2019 because I couldn’t find out their specific age) and is competing with the likes of kannaway and changing the future outcome, whom also compete in the CBD oils nutritional supplements area.

I want to provide you with a little backstory on the founders just so you know who you’d be working for if you decided to join. Barry, before deciding to create WB, was actually the CEO of another company called Amerisciences.

This company was a part of a major lawsuit in 2011, so bad in fact that Barry was held liable for around $4.2 million in total. He eventually decided to jump off that sinking ship and soon after, in 2012 Amerisciences folded. After this huge lawsuit Barry joined another health and wellness company called Organo Gold.

Sean hasn’t had to deal with anywhere near as much adversity as Barry has but, he is noted as being an entrepreneur for 15 years, an expert at developing, cultivating, an inspiring sales professionals and sales organizations. He’s also been able to generate in excess of $11m for another company that’s supposed worth $400m.

Of course all of this is simply how WB describes Sean on the website so, it’s probably a little overhyped.

WB’s mission per say, at least according to their about us page, is “to bridge the gap between patient and provider, to provide wellness solutions that both satisfy the high standards of medical professionals, as well as provide a distribution model that empowers both providers and patients with the income and resources necessary to facilitate greater personal wellness and care.”

Although the wording of the statement does sound a little fancy, it’s actually quite the generic quote that, pretty much all MLM and health & wellness companies as a whole tend to say so, I wouldn’t really hold to much weight on it.

WELLNESS BIOSCIENCES RX PRODUCT LINE

Of course the products that WB sell are related to CBD olis and it seems like they only have 4 products currently within their line up.

Just a brief explanation on CBD and what it is, it’s basically an extraction, in the form of oils, from the Cannabis Sativa plant and it has all of the benefits of marijuana but with the high associated with it.

If you want a more detailed breakdown on how the oils work, check out the video below

These products include :

  • WBRx Energy ($109.99 for 1 oz bottle) – CBD oil drops
  • WBRx Sleep ($109.99 for a 1 oz bottle) – CBD oil drops (for sleep?)
  • WBRx Relief Balm ($99.99 for a tub) – “apply directly to the sore or aching area for instant relief”
  • WBRx Balance Soft Gels ($119.99 for a bottle of thirty capsules) – gel capsule CBD oil supplement

As you can see the prices for a very small bottle is very expensive, at least when compared to cheaper options which generally cost around a third of a single bottle of WB’s offerings. So, yeah from the looks of it WB’s CBD oils are at least 2 – 3 times more expensive than their competitors.

This honestly isn’t all that surprising because health & wellness MLM companies always tend to charge extreme prices for their products. Sometimes products that are of a lesser quality can be multiple times more expensive. Then again that’s just how MLM’s are, it’s simply a risk you’ll have to take if you plan on promoting WB’s oils.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH WELLESLEY BIOSCIENCES RX?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, WB being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Joining WB requires you to purchase one of their 2 starter packs :

  • Starters Pak ($195) : affiliate membership plus two bottles of WBRx Balance
  • Builders Pak ($495) : adds mobile app and more Wellness BioSciences RX products

The minimum starter pack price at $195 is actually very tame and certainly a lot cheaper than starting costs from other MLM’s however, as is the case with the other MLM’s, the Builder Pak will likely be what you’d need to consider purchasing because of how much more cost effective and valuable it’d be for a partner.

Moreover, you’d need to sign up through a direct sponsor too, which means that this direct upline sponsor will try to upsell you on the $495 pack anyways saying essentially the same things that I’ve said as in how much more cost effective the Builder Pak is and how it has a ton of value for business partners etc.

Also there doesn’t appear to be a mandatory autoship program that WB uses which a postive in my book although I’m sure you’d need to buy the products anyways if you plan on selling them in person.

All in all, I can say that the joining costs aren’t half bad.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

The compensation structure is arguably the most important element of the company, it’s something you’d need to go over multiple times simply to understand how the payments work.

In this section I’ll go over WB’s plan, of which there are 6 main money making methods and incentives but, first I want you to let you know how the ranking system within WB works as well as the criteria you’d need to meet in order to achieve the ranks :

  • IBP : generate up to $2999.99 GV a month
  • Manager : generate $3000 to $14,999 GV a month
  • Executive : generate $15,000 to $29,999 GV a month
  • Director : generate $30,000 to $59,999 GV a month
  • Regional Director : generate $60,000 to $119,999 GV a month
  • National Marketing Director : generate and maintain $120,000 to $239,999 GV over a rolling two-month period
  • President’s Partnership Club : generate and maintain $240,000 or more GV over a rolling four-month period

GV stands for Group Volume which represents the total accumalated sales volume of your whole team. PV stands for personal volume which is the sales that you’ve personally generated.

Now I’ll move to the 6 main elements of the compensation plan.

Retail Commissions

These commissions are what you earn when you sell one of WB’s product line to retail customers

Production Bonuses

This bonus is calculated using a percentage bonus on retail volume generated by Director and higher ranked members :

  • Directors earn a 5% Production Bonus
  • Regional Directors earn a 10% Production Bonus
  • National Marketing Directors earn a 15% Production Bonus
  • President’s Partnership Clubs earn a 20% Production Bonus

Recruitment Commissions

This is a commission that WB will pay its members depending on the starter pack a downline member of yours purchases :

  • recruit a new Starters Pak affiliate and earn $50
  • recruit a new Builders Pak affiliate and earn $100

Residual Commission’s

The residual commission is calculated for a member dependant on the sales volume generated by your team in each level of the unilevel structure WB uses. A unilevel structure is one the can theoretically recruit an infinite number of members horizontally however, the vertical or the depth of the structure tends to be capped.

In this case the WB unilevel structure is capped at level 6.

As for the amounts, in terms of percentages, you can earn through the structure, they are as follows :

  • Managers earn 7% on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
  • Executives earn 7% on levels 1 and 2
  • Directors earn 7% on levels 1 to 3
  • Regional Directors earn 7% on levels 1 to 4
  • National Marketing Directors earn 14% on levels 1 to 5
  • President’s Partnership Clubs earn 21% on levels 1 to 6

Infinity Bonus

The infinity bonus is only available for the National Marketing Director and President’s Partnership Club(the two highest ranks in the company). The infinity bonus actually starts at level 7 of the unilevel structure :

  • National Marketing Directors earn a 1% Infinity Bonus
  • President’s Partnership Clubs earn a 2% Infinity Bonus

Car And Travel Bonuses

These are incentives that WB provide for their members dependant on how well they do. These incentives are also only reserved for the 2 highest ranks within WB, National Marketing Director and President’s Partnership Club.

If you want a more deatiled look at the compensation plan, watch Barry’s video overview on it down below (p.s it’s very long so grab some popcorn beforehand).

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Need To Recruit To Succeed

Although there aren’t an insane number of ranks within WB, the compensation plan clearly shows how recruiting plays a huge part on who’ll succeed and who won’t.

So unless you’re good at doing this, you’ll probably fail with the company. Of course if you figure out a lead generation tactic that can help you recruit people who are genuinely interested over family or friends who just do it to “help you”, there is a chance you can make it work.

I don’t see why you couldn’t succeed if you’re good at recruiting people who are interested however, the fact of the matter is that you and pretty much everyone else in this MLM scene don’t know how to do. Therefore, unless you’ve already got the skillset or are willing to learn how to do it, I’d suggest skipping WB.

The Products Are Relly Expensive Compared To Other Alternatives

From my research I found that you could buy CBD oils for a significantly lower price than what’s offered by WB. This means that as a member it’d be quite hard to make sales because customers could just as easily buy from competitors who sell their bottles for around 30 – 50 bucks as opposed to the $100 that WB charge.

Barry Has Dealt With A Major Lawsuit In The Past

Barry’s past endeavours are somewhat concerning as he did have to deal with a multi million dollar lawsuit which resulted in that company collapsing a year after. Of course in between creating WB he worked for another company where he didn’t deal with any other problems but, that massive mistake by Barry is nevertheless a little concerning.

Then again this did happen around 7 – 8 years ago so I’m pretty sure he’s, at the very least, become more competent as a business owner so I hope he won’t make the same mistake with WB.

Most People Will Likely Fail

Although WB is a new company, the truth is that the chances of you making a decent amount of money with it, let alone make it to the top of the company are very very slim.

According to income disclosure statements from companies like 4life, xyngular, beautycounter, ariix, the chances of making $1k/month is only going to be around 5% whilst only the top 1% are the making $2k+/month.

I know that WB is a new company meaning you could get in early and try to lead from the beginning however, the chances of succeding are still slim to none. Unless you’ve got a good marketing strategy to go with it you really shouldn’t expect much as one of their distributors.

THE GOOD THINGS

They Co-Founders Have A Good Amount Of Experience With MLM Companies

The two founders have a lot of experience within the MLM business so that does add a fair bit of credibility to their methods in my opinion.

The Starting Costs Aren’t Too Bad

The costs starting at only $195 is actually very cheap in comparison to soo many other MLM companies I’ve reviewed so, if you decide to join WB you wouldn’t be breaking the bank to get involved.

IS WELLNESS BIOSCIENCES RX A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

Overall, from what I’ve seen and researched, WB is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it is a legitimate MLM company however, there are a few issues that wouldn’t make it the best MLM company or business opportunity to join, in my perspective at least.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding WB , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about WB and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

Thanks
