Is Jifu Travel A Scam? (A Travel Pyramid Scheme!?)

It’s likely that you have come across Jifu Travel through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Jifu Travel a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Jifu Travel review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Jifu Travel. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Jifu Travel so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Jifu Travel that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Jifu Travel

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Travel MLM

PRICE: $50 (first month) + $25/month to become a retail member) it $100 + $30/month+ to become an affiliate.

SUMMARY: The good news is that, as far as I can tell, Jifu isn’t a pyramid scheme or a scam, it’s a legitimate MLM company but, this doesn’t mean I completely reccomend you join it.

The fact you need to recruit a lot to succeed. The somewhat pay to play like system when purchasing the sign up packages and the high chance of failure (of course this is more so on an educated guess), are just a few reasons why I personally wouldn’t recommend you join, especially if you haven’t got a plan in place to generate warm membership leads to Jifu.

Jeffrey’s personal experience in the MLM industry definitely adds to the the credibility of the company but, I would suggest you either look into a different business opportunity like affiliate marketing for example or learn how to generate warm leads using the training provided in my #1 reccomendation before jumping on the Jifu train.

WHAT IS JIFU TRAVEL?

Jifu travel logo

Jifu is a travel based MLM company founded in late 2018. It was founded by a couple of individuals named Jeffrey Boyle and Bradley Boyle. I’ve reviewed quite a few travel based MLM’s on this website such as ibuumerang, evolution travel and traverus and compared to the other niches in the MLM sector, the travel one doesn’t seem to be all that saturated.

Jeff is actually quite the experienced MLM businessman because in May 2009 he was the CEO of another company called Jus International. 2 years after his departure in 2011 the company decided to cut their ties with the MLM business model and decided to solely focus on the retail side of things.

He also headed another company in 2013 called Sanki global but, he left this company in 2015. In the periods where he wasn’t the CEO of a company Jeff  used to teach others how to be successful multi level marketers so essentially, he was acting as a coach.

In fact he still has a bunch of networks that still promote his coaching services which are also available within Jifu. Bradley on the other hand has no experience within the MLM sector, that I could find atleast.

So that’s the gist of who the owners are behind the company. Now, I’ll now move onto Jifu’s product line aka their travel services.

JIFU TRAVEL’S PRODUCT LINE

If you decide to become a member of Jifu, you’ll find out that they use a portal that will provide discounts for if you search through it. In fact they claim that you’ll be able to find any kind of travel services within it as you would using a public online portal such as hotels, resorts and so on.

Jifu travel prices

In order to join the Jifu travel portal, a customer will need to invest a fair bit of money into. It. The price will be $50 for the first month and $25/month after that.

That would be the retail option only which actually is quite hidden as you’ll need to do a bit of digging to find it. Obviously because Jifu would rather you pay more and become a member who’d “benefit” from the compensation plan instead.

As for the option of becoming an affiliate for Jifu (as they call it on thier website), you’d need to invest in a one of thier starter packages.

HOW DO YO MAKE MONEY WITH JIFU TRAVEL?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Jifu being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

In this section I’ll go over the affiliate packages that Jifu requires you to pay for in order to qualify for the MLM business section of the company.

There are 4 different packages to choose from :

  • Silver Affiliate Pack – $100 + $30 a month
  • Gold Affiliate Pack – $400 + $40 a month
  • Platinum Affiliate Pack – $600 + $80 a month
  • Diamond Affiliate Pack – $1000 + $120 a month

As you can see the membership packages, even for the silver package, is quite expensive. Now the reason why there are different packs is so that Jifu can obviously make a lot more money from you but, also because the higher packages unlock more elements of the compensation plan.

This means that there’s more earning potential for some one who buys a diamond pack over a silver one.

So it’s kind of like a pay to play system, which is never a good thing when it comes to MLM’s. Ultimately, if you wanted to succeed with the company as well as have the best over potential with it, you’d be looking to pay well over $2k for the first year and around $1.5k the following years to maintain your membership status.

I don’t know about you but paying that amount for just a simple membership is a bit overkill.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

Jifu’s compensation plan is really long consisting of 20+ pages so if you were serious about joining the company, it’s something you’d definitely need to go over, multiple times even. Of course I’ll briefly be breaking it down for you here however, you still should go over the plan yourself afterwards.

Before I move onto the compensation plan, I want to first go over all of the membership ranks that can be achieved just so you know how the structure of Jifu affiliates works as well as the criteria to become a certain rank :

  • Manager : sign up with or upgrade to a Silver pack or higher, recruit two affiliates or enroll two retail customers and generate at least 500 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Manager 2 : maintain two recruited affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 1000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Manager 3 : recruit and maintain four affiliates or enroll four retail customers and generate at least 2000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Manager 4 : maintain four recruited affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 4000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Director : sign up with or upgrade to a Diamond pack, recruit and maintain six recruited affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 8000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Director 2 : maintain six recruited affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 20,000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Director 3 : recruit and maintain at least eight affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 40,000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Director 4 : maintain eight recruited affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 80,000 CP in weekly weaker binary team side volume
  • Executive : sign up or have upgraded to a Diamond pack, recruit and maintain twelve affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 200,000 CP in weekly binary team side volume
  • Executive 2 : recruit and maintain sixteen affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 400,000 CP in weekly binary team side volume
  • Ambassador : recruit and maintain twenty affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 600,000 CP in weekly binary team side volume
  • Ambassador 2 : recruit and maintain twenty-four affiliates or enrolled retail customers and generate at least 1,000,000 CP in weekly binary team side volume

In total there are 12 different ranks and as you can see, the criteria for reaching the top top ranks are super difficult unless you recruit a ton. I guess you could say that such a thing is par for the course when it comes to MLM business opportunities nowadays.

Moving on to the compensation plan, there are a total of 7 main ways to make money through it.

Retail Commissions

For this section of the plan, you earn $25 for every membership you sell whilst you make $5 if a personally recruited affiliate of yours makes a membership sale.

Recruitment Commissions

This is the commission you’ll make for recruitment of new members into the MLM opportunity.

These commissions are paid both as a fixed commission, and a percentage of the generated “Commissionable Points” (CP) on recruitment of Gold, Platinum and Diamond affiliates.

Recruits who buy the silver pack are paid down 2 levels (level 2 being the personal affiliates of ‘your’ personal affiliates) where you are paid $50 from level 1 recruits and $10 for the second level.

If you recruit members who purchase either a gold, platinum or diamond pack, you will be provided with the following points instead :

  • recruitment of a Gold pack affiliate = 350 CP
  • recruitment of a Platinum pack affiliate = 550 CP
  • recruitment of a Diamond pack affiliate = 950 CP

The commission rates for each of the packages include the following :

  • Starter pack affiliates are paid 10%
  • Silver pack affiliates are paid 20%
  • Platinum pack affiliates are paid 25%
  • Diamond pack affiliates are paid 30%

The 25% and 30% rates for the platinum and diamond ranks will only apply for the first 6 months but, to continue receiving those rates you’d need to achieve a manger 4 rank for platinum and a director 4 rank for the diamond pack rate.

If this criteria isn’t satisfied, commission rates for each pack will drop to 20% and 25% respectively.

Residual Commissions

Jifu utilises a binary structure for their residual commissions where the first level is made up of a left and right leg. The first level is made up of 2 of your personally recruited affiliates, level 2 is made up of your personally recruited affiliates housing 2 of their own affiliates and this pattern will continue for a theoretically infinite number of levels.

The residual income is paid out by calculating the generated CP that both sides would theoretically make to in turn pay you on the amount that the weaker of the 2 sides produces :

  • Managers through Manager 4 earn a 15% residual commission rate
  • Directors and higher earn a 20% residual commission rate

The remaining CP is matched on both sides of the binary team and flushed. As for the leftover CP on the stronger binary team side, it is capped based on the rank and carried over into the following week.

Matching Bonus

The matching bonus is the income you recieve when someone you recruit or an individual in your downline earns a commission, you get an extra bonus.

This bonus is paid using the same unilevel structure for the recruitment commissions as I’ve mentioned above. As for what the rates are for this bonus, they include the following :

  • Manager 2 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates)
  • Manager 4 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1 and 15% on level 2
  • Director ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2 and 10% on level 3
  • Director 2 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3 and 5% on level 4
  • Director 3 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3 and 5% on levels 4 and 5
  • Director 4 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3, 5% on levels 4 and 5 and 1% on level 6
  • Executive ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3, 5% on levels 4 and 5 and 1% on levels 6 and 7
  • Executive 2 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3, 5% on levels 4 and 5 and 1% on levels 6 to 8
  • Ambassador ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3, 5% on levels 4 and 5 and 1% on levels 6 to 9
  • Ambassador 2 ranked affiliates earn a 20% match on level 1, 15% on level 2, 10% on level 3, 5% on levels 4 and 5 and 1% on levels 6 to 10

Rank Achievement Bonus

This bonus simply pays you out once you’ve achieved a specific rank within the company :

  • qualify as a Manager and receive 500 TRC
  • qualify as a Manager 2 and receive 1000 TRC
  • qualify as a Manager 3 and receive 2000 TRC
  • qualify as a Manager 4 and receive 4000 TRC

  • qualify as an Executive 4 and receive 1,000,000 TRC

TRC stands for travel rewards credits and are credits, according to Jifu, that can only be used to redeem products and services in the JIFU Travel Portal.

Jetsetter Bonus

The Jetsetter Bonus is a 15% match on Travel Rewards Credits commissions, capped at 60,000 TRC ($600) a week.

Also, once you’ve managed to accumalate 1.2m TRC, the TRC accumalated through this bonus can be used on anything on the Jifu portal including flights, cruises, rental cars etc.

Leader Bonus Pools

In this bonus, 1% of the company wide genreated CP is placed into 3 1% leader bonus pools so that the higher ranked members can benefit a bit more financially.

The ranks that this bonus corresponds to include the following :

  • Directors receive one share in the Directors pool
  • Director 2 affiliates receive two shares in the Directors pool
  • Director 3 affiliates receive three shares in the Directors pool
  • Director 4 affiliates receive four shares in the Directors pool
  • Executives receive one share in the Executives pool
  • Executive 2 affiliates receive two shares in the Executives pool
  • Ambassadors receive one share in the Ambassador pool
  • Ambassador 2 affiliates receive two shares in the Ambassador pool

It’s also worth noting that Jifu will only pay ouy this bonus if the company manages $1m in their monthly membership sales revenue.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Must Be Good At Recruitment

The main way to succeed with Jifu will ultimately be dependant on your ability to recruit so, if you’re not good at that, your chances in making it work with the company will be pretty desolate.

Jifu will also probably ask you to recruit family or friends just to get started but, this is something I’m completely against because if things go wrong for your family member because of your reccomendation, your relationship may become strained.

On top of that, family or friends would only join to support you and not necessarily to make Jifu work for them so it wouldn’t be all that ideal for you either.

This is where I suggest you learn how to recruit people who are genuinely interested in the opportunity.

Whether this be through face to face interaction or over the Internet, maybe via a website (check this training out to see how to do that) or even on a fanpage, as long as you’re able to generate leads that are interested, I don’t see why you couldn’t become a successful Jifu affiliate

Nevertheless, the fact recruitment will pay a huge role towards your success isn’t a business model I completely recommend and on top of that, the fact you’re in the travel niche too will make it even harder to convince customers, at the very least, to pay for a Jifu portal membership.

Afterall, why would they pay for a membership when they can literally find decent deals without needing to pay simply by doing a bit of research on Google.

Pay To Play Start Up Costs

The start up costs as a retail member isn’t too bad because you do get access to everything within the membership area besides the compensation plan but, if you do want to become a Jifu affiliate and earn money through the plan you will need to purchase one of the starter packs.

However, not all of the packs will provide you with the same benefits. In fact if you want to get the most out of being a Jifu affiliate you’ll need to consider purchasing the diamond pack and well…that pack will cost you a lot of money.

So, the joining fee, in my eyes, is kind of like a pay to play system and in my experience with systems like this, the FTC don’t take too kindly to them.

Most People Will Fail

The company is almost 2 years old at this point so it’s still quite hard to come across any kind of income disclosure statement however, if it follows the same pattern as other MLM’s like arbonne, 4life, my daily choice, beautycounter the chances of success will be very limited.

In general, judging from other MLM income disclosure statements, only around 5% tend to make $1k/month whilst only the top 1% make a full time income of atleast $2k/month.

Moreover, the large majority within these companies, around 70% or so, tend to make little to no money so yeah, take this information as you will but, you’ve got to admit that your chances of succeeding with Jifu as well as covering the overhead is going to be very difficult to achieve.

THE GOOD THINGS

The Owner Is Very Experienced With MLM’s

The fact Jeff is very knowledgeable about MLM’s and has a fair bit of experience with them over the years does give Jifu a little more credibility than other establishment with a CEO  who’s new to the industry.

Of course this won’t necessarily mean Jifu will be a great company to work for but, his experience does add a fair bit of credibility to the company as a whole.

IS JIFU TRAVEL A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

The good news is that, as far as I can tell, Jifu isn’t a pyramid scheme or a scam, it’s a legitimate MLM company but, this doesn’t mean I completely reccomend you join it.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Jifu , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Jifu and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments.

Thanks

Amhil
