Is ASEA A Scam? (Another Overhyped Pyramid Scheme?)(EXPOSED)

It’s likely that you have come across ASEA through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is ASEA a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this ASEA review.

irst and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining ASEA. For all you could have known,  ASEA could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of ASEA so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at ASEA that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: ASEA

OWNER/S: Verdis Norton

TYPE OF PRODUCT: salt water/skin care products MLM

PRICE: $120 + Autoship and training

SUMMARY: The good news is that ASEA is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, I consider it to be legitimate MLM opportunity but there are quite a few issues with it that may stop you from joining.

The really expensive start up and upkeep costs, the fact that you will need to recruit a lot to succeed and although the lack of an income disclosure statement doesn’t concretely justify this point, there’s probably a less than a.5% success rate (making $1k/month at least) as an ASEA distributor.

There are a few good things about the company such as the solid training, the credibility it has an the fact that the product line is very focused, the issues I mentioned above may still persuade you to skip out on the company.

I personally wouldn’t recommend that you join but, if you’re sold on the idea of becoming an ASEA distributor, it could work out

FINAL RATING: 2/5

RECOMMENDED: NO

WHAT IS ASEA?

ASEA logo

ASEA is a MLM company founded by Verdis Norton in 2009 and is now a global entity that operates in 10 different countries. The founder of the company is also an individual who has worked with quite a few fortune 500 companies meaning he is quite experienced business man.

As for if his skills translates onto ASEA, on the surface level, it does seem to be the case because of he’s managed to turn the company into a global entity.

ASEA’s headquarters is located in Salt Lake City, Utah in USA.

Besides being a global company, in 2015 ASEA also developed a relationship with BioAgilityx who’s bio lab continues to be used to validate the claims that ASEA makes regarding their product.

As to why I believe it’s worth listening to my opinion on ASEA, it’s because I’ve reviewed a lot of MLM’S such as :

Which is why I believe I have a pretty solid grasp on what makes a MLM company good or bad.

ASEA’S PRODUCT LINE

ASEA actually only has 2 main line products that their 30k sales associates sell. This is far different to most MLM’s out there as ASEA actually doesn’t try to drown you in the influx of products they have unlike market America or Amway. This way  atleast you can try all of the products and actually know what you’re selling to your customers.

As for what these 2 produts are, they’re called ASEA Redox Supplement and Renu 28

Asea products

ASEA Redox Supplement ($35 Per Bottle)

This is what ASEA calls their miracle water, it’s just salt water mixed with some nutrients and what not.

The benefits that are present within the salt water includes :

  1. Cell protection
  2. Increased cell rejuvenation
  3. Increased athletic performance
  4. Increase cellular communication

ASEA Remu 28 (Around $50)

This is the skincare line of products that ASEA sell and the benefits that it includes are :

  • Decreases eye wrinkles
  • Improves facial skin texture
  • Increases your skin’s smoothness
  • Increases skin’s elasticity
  • Increases skin’s moisture

ASEA also provides a plan which can be followed when applying and using their skincare product and salt water, of course this does mean you will need to spend more money on the products but, that’s to be expected if you follow a routine anyways. The prices are quite big too, around 3-5 times more expensive then other competitors.

WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK OF ASEA’S PRODUCTS?

As I’ve not tried any of ASEA’s products personally I can’t speak for their quality but, I did do a little bit of research to see what others thought of it and this is what I found.

In BBB the opinions on the products was basically a mixed bag. Some of the people found that the products were great whilst some just didn’t see any results at all.

Asea good

Asea complaint

On Highya the opinions that people have are also pretty similar to what’s on bbb, for some people the results have been overwhelming positive whilst it just isn’t compatible for others.

So the products in general aren’t bad but, the results are not guaranteed for every one who uses them.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY THROUGH ASEA?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, ASEA being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

In order to get started with ASEA, you will need to purchase one of their 4 packages.

The packages that they sell include :

  1. ASEA Advancing Life : 1 Case of Asea Redox for $120
  2. Basic Plus : 2 Cases of Asea Redox for $240
  3. Builder : 4 Cases of Asea Redox for $370
  4. Express Builder : 8 Asea Redox of Asea for $770

Each case contains 4 bottles of 32 fl oz or 942ml ASEA rodox, which is around $30 a bottle for the cheapest package. Of course the more expensive packages do have better value but, they’re expensive. If you decide to opt for the express builder pack, the bottles of redox will only cost $24, which isn’t too bad but it does mean you’d need to invest $770.

Besides the fee for the packages you will also need to pay for the mandatory training afterwards. These training seminars are mostly held on professional development and can be either online (webinars) or in person.

There are 4 training programs offered :

  1. Envision : Envison is an 3-day event that happens yearly where you get the opportunity to mingle with experts and the higher level executives within ASEA. This event also covers leadership skills and business plan creations.
  2. Base Camp : This is only limited to Bronze Executives and above. It’s focused on team management training along with access to weekly webinars.
  3. ASEA Ascent : This training just goes over how to make your business better.
  4. Diamond Summit : This training consists of conferences that are held in luxury resorts within Hawaii. It’s usually a one-day event split into 2 halves, the first half regarding the conference whilst the second half is focused on relaxing, making connections etc

The last expense that you will need to part with is an autoship fee. The minimum autoship you need to be eligible for the compensation plan and remain an active member is 100 pv worth of products per month, which is equivalent to one case of ASEA Rodex.

200 pv or more will allow you to access more areas of the compensation plan. So in short you will, at the very least, need to spend $120 a month.

That equates to $1440 a year which definitely isn’t cheap at all.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

As ASEA is a MLM company, it also has it’s own compensation plan, which is something that everyone who is serious about joining the company, should learn.

ASEA’s compensation plan uses a binary structure meaning that there is a left and a right leg, it’s actually a very common MLM structure so it’s not at all surprising it’s here.

Binary MLM structure

As for what within the compensation plan, I’ll go over it briefly :

  1. Retail Commissions : Each bottle is equivalent to around $25 – $30 so in order to maximise your profits, you’ll need to charge as much as you think the market is willing to pay. This can be around $40 – $50 per bottle or something along those lines.
  2. Preferred Customer Bonus : You’ll make $25 from your Preferred Customers when they sign up for an autoship.
  3. Fast Start Bonus : This is a bonus given out to members who sponsor their new recruits during the enrolment process.
  4. Recruitment Commissions : You’ll be able to make $20 from every one of your new downline members who purchases a product package.
  5. AAA or (Affiliate Autoship Commissions) : Members get paid when ever a recruit signs up for an autoship plan.
  6. Check Match Bonus : This bonus pays out a percentage of commissions earnt by a referrers team.
  7. Team Commissions :  When a member builds at least 300PV in their organization’s left and right legs, they’ll be eligible to earn 10% of the volume in commissions from the leg that has the lower PV

It’s imperative that you learn this plan in more detail if you’re serious about joining therefore I’d suggest that you check out the compensation plan by clicking here or if you feel like watching a video, I’d suggest you check out the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Recruiting Is Necessary To Succeed

MLM’s require that you recruit as much as you can or make as many sales as you can. The truth is that you’re highly unlikely to make good money without being good at recruiting people into your downline. The compensation plan definitely outlines this aspect about being sales representative too.

Direct sales alone probably won’t cut it because the profit margins are goint to be at around 10 bucks that’s why if you’re not fan of recruitment or just can’t be asked to learn how to get good at, you should consider skipping out on ASEA.

It’s Very Expensive To Start And Upkeep!

Considering how you’ll need to purchase at least 1 case of ASEA Redox everymonth to remain an active member for the compensation plan, the amount you’ll need to pay in order to upkeep your business will be very expensive.

If you only go for the cheapest package you’ll be spending $1440 for the year, although you can just purchase the largest package, you’ll still need to buy at least a new redox case every month which means that $1440 a year is the absolute minimum you’ll be spending to maintain access to the compensation plan.

This also means you could have issues with stock piling if you struggle to make sales on a regular basis.

In short, ASEA is an expensive MLM to be involved with.

No Income Disclosure Statement

The lack of an income disclosure statement makes if hard to concretely say whether or not the success rate is good or bad however, as I have reviewed a lot of MLM opportunities I’ve also seen a lot of income disclosure statements within them. The results based on thses assumptions probably means that ASEA has a low success rate.

Statements fro Ariix, Usana, Xyngular, Scentsy etc all show how only 1% of members manage to make a full time income through the company and usually only less than 5% of all members make decent money around the $1k/month.

Of course I can’t, with absolute certainty, say that ASEA falls within this same boat but, honestly I doubt these assumptions are too far off the mark.

So, if you do join ASEA, keep this in mind.

THE GOOD THINGS

The Product Line Is Focused

Having only 2 products, at least will mean that as a distributor you won’t find it hard to find the good and bad qualities of what’s being offered through personal experience. I guess this also limits your ability to attract as much customers as possible but, this focused approach is, in my opinion, a good thing, maybe you think otherwise.

The Training Provided Seems To Be High Quality

I’ve discussed this in decent depth above and it does seem like ASEA provides solid training for it’s sales representatives. Although not all the training is accessible by everyone, they do appear to be quite high quality so this is another good thing regarding ASEA in my opinion.

It’s Been Around For More or Less A Decade

The fact it’s been around for 10 years at this point makes its a a pretty credible company. Most companies tend to fail before they reach this milestone so the fact ASEA has made it so far as  a functioning company is a good sign regarding its credibility

IS ASEA A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

The good news is that ASEA is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, I consider it to be legitimate MLM opportunity but there are quite a few issues with it that may stop you from joining.

The really expensive start up and upkeep costs, the fact that you will need to recruit a lot to succeed and although the lack of a income disclosure statement doesn’t concretely justify this point, there’s probably a less than 5% success rate as an ASEA distributor.

There are a few good things about the company such as the solid training, the credibility it has and the fact that the product line is very focused nevertheless, the issues I mentioned above may still persuade you to skip out.

I personally wouldn’t recommend that you join however, if you’re sold on the idea of becoming an ASEA distributor, it could potentially work out.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing. affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding ASEA , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about ASEA and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

  1. “SHALOM” Good Day…….I was searching through the web for this type of information about ASEA. I have a few reps/distributors or whatever you call them, I call them salesmen pitchers.Because every statement that they throw at you have “flaw-ability.” They seem to do the same thing as the pharmaceutical/medical industry model themselves after. Capitalizing on the weak and beggarly element. (Galatians 4:9) Shame…….Shame…….Shame…….
Thanks for your time and research much success to you in your endeavors!!!

    • I’m glad I could be of help and yeah a lot of distributors due tend to capatalize on the desires of the weak and feeble, which is of course not something I or anyone who has some kind of heart endorses.

Of course this isn’t too say there aren’t any good apples within ASEA, it’s simply that so many prey on the weak in order to rise up the pecking order within these types of MLM’s and that’s just not cool.
