Is Trevo A Scam!?(Another Pyramid Scheme In Disguise?!)

Is Trevo A Scam!?(Another Pyramid Scheme In Disguise?!)

It’s likely that you have come across Trevo through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Trevo a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Trevo review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Trevo. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Trevo so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Trevo that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Trevo

OWNER/S: Mark and Holli Stevens in 2010

TYPE OF PRODUCT: health and wellness MLM

PRICE: $150 – $960

SUMMARY:The good news is that Trevo is neither a pyramid scheme or a scam, it’s a legitimate business opportunity and MLM but it’s also not something I’d recommend you just jump head first into, as your recruiter might suggest, without a plan.

Firstly you will need to recruit a lot meaning you’ll need to be able to contact a high volume of potential prospects but, finding prospects that are genuinely interested is a lot easier said than done. This is where you’ll need training (my #1 reccomendation).

The aspect of the Trevo drink being uber expensive and the fact most individuals fail as MLM business owners are a couple other reasons why you should probably look elsewhere toom

A good thing about the company is that it is almost 10 years old and although age isn’t a determing factor on how profitable a company can be, it does still add credibility to the brand.

FINAL RATING: 2/5

RECOMMENDED: NO

WHAT IS TREVO?

Trevo logo

Trevo is a health and wellness based MLM founded by Mark and Holli Stevens in 2010 and it still being aound nearly 10 years later shows that it has managed to flourish somewhat in this insanely competitive health and wellness niche and this is considering its competitors are the like of Avon, nature’s sunshine, Senegence, isagenix and a ton of others.

Why exactly has it manged to stick around then? The simple answer is because they’re pretty decent at marketing but, also because of the quality of the product they sell. I’ll discuss this area of the company as well as how you can join and the compensation plan a little later in the review but first I want to talk a little about the owners.

Mark and holli Stevens

Mark Stevens is a fairly established entrepreneur having published a best selling book. He is listed on Who’s Who in Corporate America and serves on a number of boards and charities whilst Holi Stevens is a highly qualified direct sales person who’s accumalated a fair few prestigious awards over the years due to her skill set.

At first glance most probably would think that Mark and Holi don’t seem like a pair that could create a successful health and wellness company but, that’s exactly what they’ve managed to do.

However, whether it’s a business I’d recommend to a complete newbie is a different story entirely and of course, it’s something I’ll be delving a lot deeper into throughout the rest of this review.

TREVO PRODUCT LINE

Trevo isn’t a company that sells multiple products span over 5 or 6 categories and have number of products ranging in the hundreds, Trevo is actually very much the opposite of ecommerce stores with tons of products, it’s completely focused on branding their company on a singular product.

Trevo drink

This product is a drink simply called Trevo and it’s sold in pairs, where each bottle is 32oz, each with a blend of ingredients that include 174 nutritional supplement. If you do a bit of research you’d be pretty gobsmacked to find that a single bottle can cost a customer around $100!

That’s an insane amount to pay for a singular drink but, when you consider Trevo does only focuses on this one product, at the very least the quality of it shouldn’t be all too bad. Then again this can only be observed on a case by case basis.

The drink has three phases in the way operates for a user, the phases being to :

  • Restore energy and focus and stimulates your body.
  • Renew your body with phytonutrients.
  • Revive you with anti-aging and immunity properties.

The drink in essence is meant to help you with a ton of things, some of which I’ll list below :

  • Mental health and cognition
  • Weight management
  • Heart health
  • Cellular health
  • Digestion
  • Nervous system
  • Immune system
  • Circulatory system
  • Eye health
  • Bone and joint health
  • Blood pressure

So it essentially is designed to act as drink with superfood qualities but, to be honest with you here, I personally think the 174 ingredient list is a little excessive and the fact there’s literally only one product the company sells does make it quite limiting for members considering the opportunity is primarily a sales based job.

However, once again, the age of the company does imply it’s very possible to make it work as a consultant (although the chances of success will be limited depending on how experienced you are at marketing.)

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH TREVO?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Trevo being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to get started with Trevo, you’ll need to purchase a a few things with the main enrollment being accomplished when a starter kit is purchased.

These enrollments packs range from $150 – $960 so they are relatively affordable but, I still don’t believe they’re the best value for money when it comes to an online business opportunity, kf that’s what you’re looking to do.

If you decide to opt for the cheapest pack, you’d get three Trevo bottles and a customizable personal Trevo website whilst the most expensive enrollment pack will provide you with 24 bottles (eight cases), each one of Trevo’s sales tools, a reference guide and access to their back office system for a year.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

The compensation structure is something you must learn if you’re planning on joining the company. In order to be eligible to receive commissions from Trevo, there’s a minimum requirement of Trevo drinks that you’ll need to purchase, with the more you buy equaling more access to the levels :

  • 1 bottle a month gets you access to 1 generation
  • 2 bottles a month gets you access to 2 generations
  • 3 bottles a month gets you access to 5 generations
  • 4 bottles a month gets you access to 5 generations
  • 6 bottles a month gets you access to all 8 generations

As for the number of ways you can earn with the company, that’s split into 8 different parts :

  1. Retail sales
  2. Power start commissions
  3. Upgrade commissions
  4. QVP commissions
  5. Bulk pack commission
  6. Team volume recognition pool bonus
  7. Leadership bonuses
  8. Charity bonus

Besides just the plan, Trevo happens to have a grand total of 21 different ranks for members of the company! This means that the hierarchy is ton more complex than most other companies and as is the case with pretty much every MLM company, recruiting does pay a huge part on how successful you will be in the end.

If you want a more in depth look at the plan click here or watch the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You Need To Be Good At Recruitment To Succeed

As a MLM opportunity, Trevo does require the same skill set as all other MLM’s need, as in being very good at recruitment or an exceptional sales person. Then again even if you are great at sales, without a plethora of leads to sell Trevo to you won’t be making much money at all.

This is where I’d say Trevo isn’t all that great because the company doesn’t tell you a way or show you any training to maximise your success with the company. At most they’ll askl you to recruit friends and family which is something that I’m highly against doing because it can cause your relationships to become strained and that’s not something anyone would like right.

So yeah, unless you’re a skilled sales person and recruiter or your up for learning and spending more money on a training platform that teaches you how to generate warm leads (Like This One), Trevo isn’t a opportunity I’d recommend you pursue.

The Singular Product They Sell Is Really Expensive

The Trevo drink alone can cost in the region of $50 – $100, depending on who or where you buy it and considering it’s literally the only thing the company sells, it’s going to be quite hard, I’d think, to convince people to buy it at the price that it’s at.

However, this also means that if you’re a really good at sales, the bigger price tag will mean bigger commissions on your part, which probably will be accumalated because of  the bonus you achieve by selling the higher end enrollment packs.

The bottom line here is that the Trevo drink definitely is really expensive for what it is, ultimately making it quite the hard sell for most.

Most People Will Likely Fail

I couldn’t find an income disclosure statement to determine the earnings people generate from Trevo but, speaking from experience and having seen multiple income disclosure statements from other MLM’s like xyngular, lularoe, beautycounter, nucerity that all show a very lacklustre performance from the majority of members, I highly doubt Trevo will be any different.

Typically speaking 70% of all members tend to make little to no money from the opportunity, 5% of members make $1k a month and as for the earners who are able to generate a full time of $2k – $3k+, only the top 1% (sometimes even less) achieve this level of success.

Of course the top 1% are also the highest ranked members with the largest teams too so it makes sense why they make the most. That’s a basic outline of how you should approach Trevo and its income potential if you decide to give it a shot.

THE GOOD THINGS

The Company Has Been Around A While

Trevo is a company that’s actually managed to stick around for nearly 10 years and when you consider most businesses fail within this 10 year period, this is a very good achievement for Trevo. Now whether or not this is enough for me to recommend you join the company is a different matter entirely.

IS TREVO A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

The good news is that Trevo is neither a pyramid scheme or a scam, it’s a legitimate business opportunity and MLM but it’s also not something I’d recommend you just jump head first into, as your recruiter might suggest, without a plan.

Firstly you will need to recruit a lot meaning you’ll need to be able to contact a high volume of potential prospects but, finding prospects that are genuinely interested is a lot easier said than done. This is where you’ll need training (my #1 reccomendation).

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Trevo , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Trevo and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

Thanks
