Cloud 9 Life Review (Legit Or Another Nutritional Based MLM Scam!?)

It’s likely that you have come across Cloud 9 Life through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Cloud 9 Life a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Cloud 9 Life review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Cloud 9 Life. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Cloud 9 Life so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Cloud 9 Life that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Cloud 9 Life (CL)

OWNER/S: A.K. Khalil.

TYPE OF PRODUCT: health and wellenss MLM

PRICE: $59 first year and then $49.99/year + $110 – $459 + $49/month autoship

SUMMARY: As far as I can tell, no Cloud 9 Life is not a pyramid scheme or a scam, it does appear to be a fairly legitimate entity that may be worth getting involved with if you can bare with the somewhat complicated compensation plan, the start up costs and the skill of being good at recruitment to make it work.

Of course, as is the case with pretty much every MLM I review, I’m not a fan of the business model and would not personally recommend you join it however, if you’re still interested in the opportunity, it’s still far from worst MLM I’ve seen in recent times.

FINAL RATING: 2/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS CLOUD 9 LIFE?

Cloud 9 Life logo

Cloud 9 Life is a fairly new MLM company having only officially relaunched their website in March 2020. It based around the health and wellness nutritional supplements sector. A.K. Khalil. currently heads the company as the acting CEO.

Khalil has a fair bit of experience working at the higher positions in companies. From what I could find in 2013 he was appointed as the president for a company called Zrii.

He eventually left this job and became the CEO for a company called Gold Canyon before finally leaving that position and becoming the president for CL.

Although CL seems to have updated their website quite recently, in mid 2019 a Facebook was officially launched and the website domain was first registered on March 23rd 2017.

I like the fact that Khalil is an experienced individual within the business world but, I’ve still got to say that CL does come across as quite generic when you consider there are so many health and wellness based MLM’s that have very similar products.

CLOUD 9 LIFE PRODUCTS

As for the products CL currently have on offer, it isn’t very big and consists of the following 9 items :

  • 3 in 30 System – bundles a 3 day supply of Moxy Body (digestive enzymes) and 30 day supply of Moxy Builder (pre-biotic), retails at $62.49
  • Quench – “replenish all major electrolytes and drained energy levels with a unique combination of vitamins, minerals, natural caffeine, nopal and evodiamine”, retails at $49.99 for a pack of thirty servings
  • Great Greens – “nutrient-dense greens and Cordyceps mushrooms”, retails at $37.49 for a pack of thirty servings
  • Mission Control – “healthy glucose metabolism and weight plateau buster”, retails at $49.99 for a pack of thirty servings
  • Secret Weapon – “accelerated fat burner and mood booster”, retails at $49.99 for a bottle of thirty capsules
  • Focus Fix – “fuel your brain daily with natural nootropics that deliver key nutrients and produce an energized alertness”, retails at $49.99 for a bottle of thirty capsules (15 servings)
  • Improve Focus Repair Bundle – bundles a bottle of Focus Fix with a pack of Quench for $94.99
  • Increase Energy and Immune Support Repair Bundle – bundles a pack of Quench with a pack of Great Greens for $83.99
  • Weight Control Repair Bundle – bundles a bottle of Secret Control with a pack of Mission Control for $94.99

Although the library for products is far from huge, the products themselves are expensive ranging between $37.49 to $94.99, which probably would make it hard to convince others to buy into them over the far more established brands out there.

Of course because the company is so new there aren’t any reviews on how good they are which will make it even harder to convince someone to buy into them for now but, if they are of solid quality, even at the fairly high end pricing it may still be possible to make consistent sales.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH CLOUD 9 LIFE?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, CL being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to join CL you’ll need to first invest $59. After this you’ll need to purchase one of the Executive packs, from which you can choose from the following :

  • Fast Start Pack – $110
  • Value Pack – $210
  • Builder Pack – $459

Thirdly, in order to maintain your active status as a member you’ll need to invest in a monthly autoship plan of $49 before lastly investing an extra $49.99 annually to continue benefiting from the compensation plan.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

If you want to make money with CL, one thing that will be very important to do is to study the company’s compensation plan.

That’s why in this section of the review I’ll be going over some of the core elements of the plan to provide you with rough understanding of what’s required in order to make money as an affiliate.

Firstly, I’ll cover the different ranks an affiliate can achieve along with the criteria necessary to achieve them :

  • Executive – sign up as a Cloud 9 Life affiliate and keep up to date with membership fees
  • 1 Star – generate 1000 accumulated GV
  • 2 Star – generate 2500 accumulated GV
  • 3 Star – generate 5000 accumulated GV
  • 4 Star – generate 10,000 accumulated GV
  • 5 Star – generate 20,000 accumulated GV
  • 6 Star – generate 40,000 accumulated GV
  • 7 Star – generate 80,000 accumulated GV
  • 8 Star – generate 150,000 accumulated GV
  • 9 Star – generate 250,000 accumulated GV
  • 10 Star – generate 500,000 accumulated GV

Retail Commissions

These are commissions you’ll make for every sale that are made personally. The commissions are paid at a 25% rate and are calculated within a 30 day period from the customers first order.

This is a little confusing as it insinuates that a retail customer will only be valuable to you for a 30 day period, meaning that the repeat orders from customers wouldn’t result in you making any money after the 30 day period has elapsed.

I dunno if this is just a minor error or how CL’s retail system really works but, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt here because if the retail commissions are only set for a 30 day period, this would imply the company wants you to focus primarily on building a team and earning from them instead (which is not something I would advocate and is deemed as pyramid scheme like characteristic).

Recruitment Commissions

Every time you personally recruit someone into your team you’ll earn a 25% commission on all of the sales they generate within a 30 day period.

Matching Bonus

Affiliates ranked 1 star or above can earn a 25% matching bonus on retail and recruitment commissions earned by personally recruited affiliates.

This bonus is also set to be paid within the affiliate’s first 30 days.

Residual Commissions

CL pays its members residually using a unilevel structure.

This means that an affiliate will be placed at the top of the structure and be able to recruit and earn infinitely horizontally within the structure but the earning potential vertically will be capped.

In this case the earning potential is actually capped based on the level of a member within a singular level which then caps that levels earning potential.

This is defined as a generation and the rank that must be found within a level for the first generation to occur is a star 1 rank affiliate.

The second generation would require a 2 star affiliate and so on.

As for the earning potential that this generation based affiliate commission has in store, they are defined in the following manner :

  • 1 Stars earn 5% across one generation
  • 2 Stars earn 5% across two generations
  • 3 Stars earn 5% across three generations
  • 4 Stars earn 5% across four generations
  • 5 Stars earn 5% across five generations
  • 6 Stars earn 5% across six generations
  • 7 Stars and higher earn 5% across seven generations

There are also various other bonuses that CL offer. These include the Customer Cloud Bonus, the Leadership Coded Bonus, the Performers Pool Bonus, the Rank Achievement Bonus and the Lifestyle Bonus but, I won’t be covering it here as it’s not really something a beginner will necessarily need to learn.

However, if you still want to check the rest of plan out though, I’d suggest doing so by clicking here.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Recruitment Seems To Be Crucial For Success

Even though you can make money through retail sales, the fact of the matter is that recruitment will ultimately determine if you’ll succeed with the company or not.

This is the case with pretty much every other MLM out there so, if you’re not willing to get good at it or aren’t willing to study how to generate hundreds of sales personally, there’s a very very slim chance that you’ll make a lot money with CL.

Also the fact a monthly autoship is required in order to remain active as an affiliate also means that recruits will pretty much guarantee that you’ll make some kind of income every month.

That is of course as long as they decide to retain their active affiliate status.

The Market Is Overly Saturated

The nutritional supplements market is a very saturated market with many high name MLM competitors like Amway, juice plus, forever living, nikken as well as non MLM brands are a part of.

Also the slightly expensive prices per product will make it even harder to convince individuals to buy from CL as opposed to the other brands so, this to me is another problem, although not a huge issue per say.

The Compensation Plan Is Confusing

I personally think that the compensation plan is a little confusing from the awkward retail commissions they offer to their somewhat difficult to understand residual commissions.

Of course with time and experience understanding the premise behind the entire plan won’t be as hard to do however, as beginner the confusing compensation probably will be an issue.

The Chances Of Success Are Pretty Slim

As CL is still a very new MLM there is no way to verify the exact figures affiliates are making or will eventually make but, having seen tens of different MLM income disclosure statements over the years, I’m still pretty certain the majority will not make very good money.

Firstly, on average I’ve found that less than 70% of members within MLM’s tend not to even breakeven whilst generally it’s only the top 5% that make $1k/month or more.

As for the the full time earners (we’re talking around $2k+/month), those numbers are obviously much smaller with merely the top 1% achieving them.

These stats obviously are not the exact figures that affiliates will due to the limitations I mentioned above however, I do believe that they won’t be too far from reality.

THE GOOD THINGS

Besides maybe the owners previous history working as a CEO for other companies and the decent looking product line up (even if it is a little expensive), there isn’t very many things that stand out about CL (for now at least).

It just comes across as your typical nutritional supplements based MLM.

IS CLOUD 9 LIFE A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

As far as I can tell, no Cloud 9 Life is not a pyramid scheme or a scam, it does appear to be a fairly legitimate entity that may be worth getting involved with if you can bare with the somewhat complicated compensation plan, the start up costs and the skill of being good at recruitment to make it work.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.
