WHAT IS VESTIGE MARKETING?

Vestige marketing logo

Vestige Marketing is a ecommerce based MLM that was founded all the way back in 2004 by co-founders Gautam Bali (Managing Director), Kanwar Bir Singh (Director) and Deepak Sood (Director). The company is somewhat like an amway clone where they sell a variety of products like amazon but have a MLM compensation plan attached to it.

The company is currently located in New Delhi, India.

There isn’t any information on what the directors did previously but Gautam seems to have had a fair bit of experience within the MLM industry before starting VM.

It seems that he worked within Modicare from 1996 – 2001 where he was the Nationality Sales Manger.

After this he worked as the chief marketing director within Elken between 2003.- 2004.

As for the regions where VM operates currently, they include India, the UAE, Nepal, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

VESTIGE MARKETING PRODUCTS

VM offer a ton of different products within the website so listing them all down here would take a ton of time to do.

But, in regards to the different categories they offer products within, some of them include :

  • Health supplements
  • Personal care
  • Oral care
  • Womens hygiene
  • Mens grooming
  • Business tools
  • Cosmetics
  • Agri products and more

If you want a more in depth look at some of the individual products found within VM, click here to go to their website and check them out.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH VESTIGE MARKETING?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, VM being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to join VM and earn from their compensation plan, you will need to at the very least sign up to an autoship plan.

This autoship plan is split into 2 different variants depending on what rank you want to remain qualified as. :

  • Distributor through to Assistant Director affiliates must purchase at least 20 PV a month
  • Bronze Director and higher ranked affiliates must purchase at least 40 PV a month

Other than this, VM aren’t very transparent about the other costs affiliates would have to bare if they joined, which is a bit of an issue in my opinion.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

If you’re serious about joining VM, one thing that you definitely must learn is the compensation plan. That’s why in this section of the review I’ll be going over it briefly so that you have a rough idea on how to make money as an affiliate.

Firstly I’ll go over the different affiliate ranks and the criteria needed to achieve them :

  • Distributor I – generate 1 to 500 accumulated PV
  • Distributor II – generate 501 to 2000 accumulated PV
  • Distributor III – generate 2001 to 4500 accumulated PV
  • Senior Distributor – generate 4501 to 7500 accumulated PV
  • Assistant Director – generate 7501 to 10,000 accumulated PV
  • Bronze Director – purchase at least 40 PV a month in products, generate and maintain 2001 PV or more a month and have generated 10,001 or more accumulated PV
  • Silver Director – maintain a 40 PV monthly order, personally recruit and maintain one Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliate and generate 1801 PV a month
  • Gold Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order, personally recruit and maintain two Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates and generate 1501 PV a month
  • Star Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order, personally recruit and maintain three Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates and generate 1001 PV a month
  • Diamond Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order, personally recruit and maintain four Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates and generate 501 PV a month
  • Crown Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order and personally recruit and maintain six Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates
  • Universal Crown Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order and personally recruit and maintain eight Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates
  • Double Crown Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order and personally recruit and maintain twelve Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates
  • Double Universal Crown Director – maintain a monthly 40 PV order and personally recruit and maintain sixteen Assistant Director or higher ranked affiliates

Performance Bonus

This bonus rewards affiliates based on the amount of PV they generate within a month.

  • Distributor I will receive a 5% Performance Bonus
  • Distributor II will receive an 8% Performance Bonus
  • Distributor III will receive an 11% Performance Bonus
  • Senior Distributors receive a 14% Performance Bonus
  • Assistant Directors receive a 17% Performance Bonus
  • Bronze Directors receive a 20% Performance Bonus

Fast Start Bonus

In order to qualify for this bonus an affiliate must produce 282 GV of sales within their downline.

Once that is satisfied an affiliate will be able to earn between a 5 – 20% on the PV generated by all of their personally recruited members.

Director Bonus

VM takes 14% of the company wide revenue and places it within this director pool. This is then paid out on a monthly basis based on the shares an affiliate has.

These shares are determined using a unilevel structure, which in this case spans down 9 levels. The affiliate at the top of the structure will contribute 6% of the PV generated towards the pool.

  • Silver Directors – 5% on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates) and 4% on level 2
  • Gold Directors – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2 and 3% on level 3
  • Star Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3 and 2% on level 4
  • Diamond Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4 and 1% on level 5
  • Crown Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4, 1% on level 5 and 0.5% on level 6
  • Universal Crown Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4, 1% on level 5 and 0.5% on levels 6 and 7
  • Double Crown Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4, 1% on level 5 and 0.5% on levels 6 to 8
  • Double Universal Crown Director – 5% on level 1, 4% on level 2, 3% on level 3, 2% on level 4, 1% on level 5 and 0.5% on levels 6 to 9

Other than these main ways to make money with VM, they also seem to offer a car bonus, a house bonus and a travel bonus where they contribute a percentage of the sale revenue generated by the company every month (between 3 – 5%) and place it within each of these bonuses.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Recruitment Seems To Be Essential For Success

This is pretty much always the case with MLM’s even if retail sales do play a part and could potentially make you good money.

Therefore, if you’re no good at recruitment or simply don’t want to go around bugging people to sign up under you, considering you can’t even promote online due to the lack of an online affiliate sign up, it’ll probably be a good idea to skip VM.

The Chances Of Success Are Low

Although there aren’t any legitimate stats backing up my claims, having seen many many different income disclosure statements over the years I do have a pretty good idea as to how most individuals within the MLM business model tend to do.

Generally I’ve found that only the top 5% of all members make a decent income of around $1k/month whilst a measly 1% of all members tend to reach the minimum $2k+/month income.

Of course these numbers aren’t exact and there’s a good chance that it could be better or worse for VM affiliates however, I still doubt the real numbers would be too far off.

THE GOOD THINGS

VM does have a few positives going for it such as the experience the founders bring to the table, the company’s longevity being around since 2004 and its refund policy.

IS VESTIGE MARKETING A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

No VM is not a a pyramid scheme or a scam, at least not as far as I can tell but this does not mean I’d recommend you join it.

Although, the experience the co founders bring to the table, the company’s longevity and the refund policies are good, the fact that affiliates essentially have to subscribe to an auto ship plan, have to recruit in order to find true success and of course the low success rates with the MLM scene as a whole are the means reason why I would personally recommend avoiding this opportunity.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.
