Digital Income System Review (A MLM Scam Or Legit?)

It’s likely that you have come across Digital Income System through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Digital Income System a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to give you in this Digital Income System review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Digital Income System. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Digital Income System so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Digital Income System that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Digital Income System (DIS)

OWNER/S: Derek Jones and Bill Foley

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Digital marketing MLM

PRICE: $1K + Upsells upto $25k

SUMMARY: Although it’s not official as of the writing of this review, I honestly do believe DIS is likely to be pyramid scheme and scam and there are a number of reasons for this.

The really expensive start up costs, the lack of transparency on the earnings of its members and most importantly, the pyramid scheme red flags that it shows are, in my opinion, more than valid reasons to question DIS and in turn consider it as a system not worth looking into.

FINAL RATING: 0/5

RECOMMENDED: NO

WHAT IS DIGITAL INCOME SYSTEM?

Digital Income System logo

DIS is a high ticket MLM company founded by Derek Jones and Bill Foley. This isn’t the founder’s first MLM company.

Both of them actually founded MLM previously called Big Profit System, which didn’t do so well but, this at least proves they have some experience in the field although their lack of success on Derek and Bill’s previous venture is something that you should definitely be wary of.

DIS is a provider of digital marketing courses which come in multiple different and difficulty the further along you get in the training. Supposedly you’re also provided a coach, which is implied to be your direct referral.

However, whether or not they’ll be a good coach will depend on your luck honestly. if they are good then they may possibly help you make a 50% commission per sale.

DIS also claims to assist members in generating traffic using a rotator system which is supposedly paid using 10% of DIS’ revenue.

HOW DOES DIGTAL INCOME SYSTEM WORK?

The core premise behind DIS is to sign up under a “coach” and both buy and make sales of the multitude of course that they have in their store. It’s got a very similar model to a couple other MLM’s that also sold really expensive digital courses, namely Mobe and digital altitude, both of which were shut down by the FTC and deemed pyramid schemes.

Let me give you a short breakdown on how DIS works :

  • You sign up to DIS by purchasing one of their courses between the price range of $1k – $25k
  • Your “coach” tries to convince you to buy all of the courses if you haven’t already done, by trying to convince by saying it’ll improve your sales and what not
  • You essentially do the same thing as your coach, as in recruit as many people as you can and try to make as many sales as possible.

What Are The Packages That Digital Income System Sells?

The packages that DIS sells includes the following :

  • Entrepreneur level: Pay $1,000 to qualify for $500 recruitment commissions
  • Director level: Pay $3,000 to qualify for $1,500 recruitment commissions
  • Professional level: Pay $5,000 to qualify for $2,500 recruitment commissions
  • Ambassador level: Pay $12,000 to qualify for $6,000 recruitment commissions
  • Executive level: Pay $25,000 to qualify for $12,500 recruitment commissions

As you can see the packages sold are definitely very expensive, even at the lowest valued entrepreneur level. The most likely scenario for anyone joining DIS is that they’ll only be able to afford the $1k package because let’s face it, pretty much nobody’s going to have an extra $25k to get involved in this kind of business right?

Say you do decide to join, your direct coach will most likely tell you to invest in the more expensive packages anyways saying that it’s better for your business and that you’ll learn a lot by paying for the next level up, saying you’ll miss out on commissions if you don’t etc.

Of course this is probably so your coach can make more commissions, which as you can see above is very lucrative but, it also will provide some benefits to you too.

What I mean by this is that DIS uses a commission model known as a “pass up” model where members need to meet certain requirements to be eligible for all the commissions DIS has on offer.

What this means is if you’ve only purchased up to the director level, if say one of your direct referrals purchases an executive level package, because at this point you haven’t bought that specific level yourself, it’ll be passed up to the next person in your up line who has.

The pyramid schemes I mentioned above used this exact model to coax their members into buying their digital marketing courses just so these members could benefit from the 50% commissions and not necessarily for the actual knowledge provided within them.

Can You Make Money With Digital Income System?

The short answer is yes you can but, as I said above, the manner in which the product works is very similar to pyramid schemes that have already been shut down by the FTC.

Do you really want to promote a company with so many similarities to a pyramid scheme?

I would think not so it’s probably in your best interest to look elsewhere or other online business opportunities such as maybe freelancing, or affiliate marketing (click the the link to check out this course as it’s a very solid affiliate marketing course) if you’re still on pursuit of a full time income online.

WHO IS DIGITAL INCOME SYSTEM FOR?

DIS is a system which asks it’s members and coaches to promote the digital courses themselves and not necessarily learn from the course and apply to other areas of online business.

I’m sure that some of the content and training you’ll find will be useful and may even be useful for creating a separate online business however, as the core premise is to have members basically upsell other members on the course itself, I’m very skeptical in suggesting DIS to anyone whatsoever.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Possible Pyramid Scheme

The pass up commissions, the expensive costs and the push for individuals to convince members into buying the more expensive packages are all very characteristic of 2 recently exposed pyramid schemes.

Although DIS isn’t officially a pyramid scheme, its signs and similarities to already exposed pyramid schemes is huge red flag and more than a valid reason to look elsewhere if you’re serious about wanting to make money online.

It’s Really Expensive To Start

This is a given considering how the initial start up fee will be, at the very minimum, $1k so for most people DIS will be a very heavy investment.

Moreover, as you know about the pass up commission, this also means you’ll eventually need to buy into the $25k package to get the most out of the system. It’s at that point where it just doesn’t make much sense to invest in DIS especially when there are other significantly cheaper business opportunities that have more potential than DIS (like this).

No Transparency

The lack of transparency makes it so myself and anyone else looking into the numbers behind DIS won’t get the best picture of how successful you’ll be if you were to commit to DIS.

Of course, having reviewed well over 30 MLM companies and having seen quite a few income disclosure statement from companies like xyngular, nerium, lularoe and ariix, one thing I can tell you is that the rate of success isn’t going to be very great.

Normally, the majority of MLM members tend to fail with roughly only 5% of members making over $1k a month and less than 1% making a full time income of $2k+.

In DIS’ case, the commission per course sale may be pretty high but, if you decided to only buy the initial package, you’d somehow need to develop a system through which you can bring in 4 direct referrals regularly to make a full time income.

That’s a lot easier said than done and will require you to spend a lot of money on ads or investing on other legitimate training courses that provide solid training to build your traffic sources.

THE GOOD THINGS

There is absolutely nothing good about DIS, at least as far as I can tell so it’s not a business opportunity that I would recommend any to delve into.

IS DIGITAL INCOME SYSTEM A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

Although it’s not official as of the writing of this review, I honestly do believe DIS is likely to be pyramid scheme and scam and there are a number of reasons for this.

The really expensive start up costs, the lack of transparency on the earnings of its members and most importantly, the pyramid scheme red flags that it shows are, in my opinion, more than valid reasons to question DIS and in turn consider it as a system not worth looking into.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

Although MLM’s have created its fair share of millionaires over the years, more often than not when it comes to training newbies and teaching them how to succeed in the biz, they tend to be very lacklustre…

This is why so many people tend to fail!

Therefore, personally I would suggest you look into creating your own brand, particularly through a website, whilst ultimately getting involved in my #1 money making method online as a result.

If you’re curious as to what my #1 make money online method online is, it’s affiliate marketing!

By having your own website and essentially driving targeted traffic to it, not only can you sell whatever MLM product you want, it’s also possible to sell other products too without even purchasing stock.

By doing this not only would you make extra commission per sale but you also won’t need to worry about fulfilling orders for customers and dealing with their potential complaints!

I’ve personally made over $100 in a day as a result of implementing affiliate marketing to my online business!

Here’s a screenshot of one specific payment

Others have made way more than me but, the fact of the matter is that it works, which is why I would highly recommend you look into it.

If you’re intrigued by the potential of affiliate marketing, I’ve put together a very in-depth guide diving into what affiliate marketing is, how long it takes to make your first bit of income along with how to effectively grow your online business and maintain its income.

  1. I joined DIS over a month ago. I drove lots of traffic, got a lot of optins, and ZERO sales. Give it about a month before finally giving up on this.

    • If others want to try it out, I won’t stop them from doing so however, the similarities it has to actual pyramid schemes makes it an opportunity I will always advise against joining.

This doesn’t mean that some of the tactics DIS teaches aren’t legitimate, they clearly seemed to have worked for you however, because DIS kinda emphasis a model of asking members to recruit other members and essentially make it a mandatory thing for you to buy the higher packages if you want to have the most chance of succeeding (of course otherwise you’ll miss out on commissions to your up line). I’m still not on board with it when it comes a business opportunity worth pursuing.
