To be totally transparent with you I haven’t used Transcribe Anywhere so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you on it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party review of Transcribe Anywhere that will hopefully help you to make the correct decision in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Transcribe Anywhere (TA)

OWNER/S: Janet Shaughnessy

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Transcription course

SUMMARY: TA is definitely not a scam, I personally would say it’s a solid course that has a lot of depth and could be worth trying if you want to learn the skill of transcription and want to make some side income as a freelancer or even want to start a business.

One downside is that it is very expensive, making it a pretty big investment if you decide to buy it but, all in all it’s a solid course and worth checking out if you’re interested.

WHAT IS TRANSCRIBE ANYWHERE?

Transcribe Anywhere logo

TA is a course that focuses on teaching you how to make money by transcribing audio files into written text as well as teach you how to find transcribing jobs.

The course is developed by a 10+ year veteran within the transcribing field, Janet Shaughnessy so, at the very least, we know that Janet should have a fair bit of knowledge when it comes to transcriptions.

She also has a website called Zoom transcription where she offers professional transcription services which of course some more credibility for her course.

Janet actually got into transcribing when her husband, due to some complications, became disabled therefore, in order to make some of my extra money to cover her costs, she got into transcribing audio files and the rest is history, at this point transcribing has grown from a side hustle to her main business, which I think is a pretty cool accomplishment.

Just so you’re aware that I know what I’m talking about when it comes to a scam or legitimate product, I’ve reviewed many different products on this website such as :

Which is why I believe I have a pretty good grasp on what makes a solid system to invest in.

WHAT WILL YOU FIND IN THE MEMBERS AREA?

The course itself will set you back around $1.3k depending on if you want everything, which is far from cheap. Considering Janet’s background in transcribing audio files, I had pretty high expectations and from the looks of it, it does seem like TA delivers.

The course is split into 2 different areas :

  1. The General Transcription Course.
  2. The Legal Transcription Course.

The general transcription course consists of 6 different modules which include :

  • Module 1 The Foundation: The first module goes over what a general transcription is, the jobs that are available and the equipment needed.
  • Module 2 The Most Essential Skills to become a Pro Transcriptionist: Module 2 teaches you the skills needed to become a great transcriptionist.

  • Module 5 Building Your Transcription Business: This module focuses on building your business and setting your own rates as well as how to market yourself and get clients.
  • Module 6 Final Exam + Certification: If you pass the final exam, you’ll receive your certifications.

The Legal Transcription course is a lot more in depth and consists of 16 modules. As for what they offer, I’ll discuss down below.

  • Module 1 Introduction to Legal Transcription : The first module is just an introduction to what legal transcription is, it gives you an overview, the general duties associated with legal transcription etc.

  • Module 9 Practice Transcription of Court Proceedings : This module goes over the transcriptions guidelines for transcribing depositions through video tutorials and has a few practice trial transcriptions.
  • Module 10 Depositions : Module 10 shows you the guidelines for transcribing depositions as well as provides you with some deposition practice transcription files.
  • Module 11 Law Enforcement : This module covers law enforcement transcriptions and has a few law enforcement practice transcription files to learn from.

As you can see the course itself is very in depth and there is a lot you can learn from it if you’re serious about wanting to making money through transcription.

HOW MUCH DOES TRANSCRIBE ANYWHERE COST?

As you know from the above section, TA had 2 different courses and they both cost different prices :

  1. The general transcription course : $597
  2. The legal transcription course : $697

This is just the basic separate prices for each of the courses, TA does a thing where if you purchase the general course and manage to pass the final exam, you’ll be able to purchase the legal course for $500 or if you’d rather but both course together it will cost you $1100.

Of course these prices are far from being cheap but, you will save around $200 if you go either one of these routes. Obviously if you’re only looking to transcribe in the general sense, there’s not reason to study legal transcription.

Besides buying it outright, you can also opt to do it via other methods such as through a payment plan.

The general transcription payment plan consists of :

  • Level 1 : Get modules 1 and 2 for $127 for 30 days
  • Level 2 : Get Modules 1 to 4 for $362 for 60 days
  • Level 3 : Gives you full access to the modules at $597, but if you upgrade from Level 1, you only pay $470 and $235 if you upgrade from level 2.

The legal transcription payment plan consists of :

  • Level 1 : You get modules 1 to 4 for 30 days for $197.
  • Level 2 : You get modules from 1 to 9 for 60 days the price is $497.
  • Level 3 : You get access to the whole course here for $697, you will pay $500 if you upgrade from level 1 and $200 if you upgrade from level 2.

WHO IS TRANSCRIBE ANYWHERE FOR?

TA is for anyone who’s thinking about learning how to transcribe to either make more money on the side or develop a skillset that can benefit them to pursue a transcribing career.

It also appears to be a pretty useful tool for individuals who already are transcriptionists and want to develop their career further by improving their efficiency in the field.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

It’s Very Expensive!

This one was obviously going to be a downside for TA considering it can cost well over $1k for Janet’s knowledge on how to effectively transcribe.

Eventhough TA does appears to be a solid course, there’s no denying that it isn’t atleast a little expensive and unless you’re hard setting on learning the skill, most people won’t be willing to spend over $1.3k for it.

THE GOOD THINGS

The Training Is Very Thorough

The training for both courses is very thorough and can teach you a lot if you’re willing to invest the money and time. This is obviously a very good thing because you’re not just given some bare bones knowledge on the skill like so many other low quality and overhyped products tend to do.

The Payment Plans Make Paying For It A Lot Easier

The fact that there are payment plans, even though it is expensive, you can ease into the investment for course instead of just going all in.

A lot of people would struggle with the payment aspect so, having the payment plan option for people who really want to learn about transcription is a good thing in my opinion too.

The Training Is Convinient

Being located online and being accessible whenever you need it is another good thing because it’s convinient and you can study it whenever you want to.

It’s not necessarily TA’s strongest good point but, I thought it was worth a mention.

IS TRANSCRIBE ANYWHERE A SCAM?

TA is definitely not a scam, I personally would say it’s a solid course that has a lot of depth and could be worth trying if you want to learn the skill of transcription and want to make some side income as a freelancer or even want to start a business.

One downside is that it is very expensive, making it a pretty big investment if you decide to buy it but, all in all it’s a solid course and worth checking out if you’re interested.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I’d suggest you check out my personal recommendation if you still want to make money online, though I’ll warn you right now, it isn’t something through which money will come easy.

It is nonetheless a great business model for the online space in my opinion

So what is this method that I’m talking about?

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it is because:

– expectations toward success are a lot more grounded

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– it is a very scalable business

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding TA,  feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about TA and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

Thanks
