Liv International Review (Is It A Scam Or Legit?!)

It’s likely that you have come across Liv International through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Liv International a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Liv International review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Liv International. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Liv International so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Liv International that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Liv International

OWNER/S: Jeff Tuttle

TYPE OF PRODUCT: health and wellness MLM

PRICE:$150 + $135/month

SUMMARY: The good news is that Liv International is not a scam or a pyramid scheme, it’s a legitimate MLM company but, it’s not a company I would recommend you join.

The expensive costs to remain an active member, the fact you will need to be a really good recruiter to make the most amount of money and the really low success rate of MLM companies does mean that Liv probably isn’t an opportunity you should join unless for some reason you really want to.

So yeah, if you don’t know how to recruit effectively or don’t want to learn it, I’d suggest giving this MLM a miss.

FINAL RATING: 1.5/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS LIV INTERNATIONAL?

Liv international

Liv is yet another supplements/health and wellness based MLM company founded by Jeff Tuttle, who has over 25 years of experience in the nutritional supplements research and development industry.

Before starting up this company Jeff was actually the executive director for international marketing in a very long standing company, nature’s sunshine. He was also the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing for Synergy Worldwide, which is a subsidiary of Nature’s Sunshine Products.

He worked in these roles for 15 years so I’m sure he knows a thing or two about MLM’s and what may make them successful or not.

Liv is also available in multiple countries from Australia, Japan, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand whilst its base is located in Orem, Utah.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH LIV INTERNATIONAL?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Liv being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to join Liv, you’ll need to purchase one of their starter kits. These kits can range anywhere from $150 – $695. The higher price tag simply means you’ll be getting better value for the money. In turn you’ll be making a larger profit per item sold.

Beyond the starter kit costs, you’ll also need to spend more on Liv’s autoshipment plan to remain an active member. This expenditure is a minimum of $135/month.

This means that your first year as an active affiliate will set you back, at the minimum $1770. This is far from an easy investment for most to make and is actually in the more expensive side when it comes to MLM companies as a whole.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

If you really want to join Liv, it’s imperative that you learn the compensation plan. I’ll go over it briefly in this section but you definetly should go over it multiple times again before investing in the opportunity.

Liv has a multitude of ranks that each one of their members can achieve, in fact they have 14 different membership ranks. These ranks include :

  • 1k Manager
  • 3k Manager
  • 5k Manager
  • Director 10k
  • Senior Director 20k
  • Master Director 30k
  • Silver 50k
  • Silver Executive 75k
  • Gold 100k
  • Gold Executive 75k
  • Platinum 150k
  • Platinum Executive 175k
  • Diamond 200k
  • Diamond Executive 250k

14 is actually a really big number when it comes to the plethora of MLM’s over the last year and in my eyes it tend to be a sign that finding success within LIV will be very difficult.

The reality is that most won’t ever make it past the first rank so that basically puts everything into perspective.

Now moving on, I’ll discuss the more important elements of the compensation plan.

Retail Commissions

You’ll be able to make a profit on the products you sell. How this works is that the autoship products you recieve are products you receive at the wholesale price meaning everytime you sell them at the reccomended retail price, you should theoretically be able to make a profit.

The other way to sell Liv’s products is through hosting parties you hold at home and basically advertise the products. This option is not for everyone but, it is one that many actually do use and have found some success through.

Residual Commissions

The second methods and arguably the primary way that Liv suggest you make your money is via recruitment and commissions earned from your referrals.

In this case Liv uses a unilevel system which can have an infinite number of recruits horizontally but there’s a cap vertically, which in this case is Level 6,

The amount you’ll make in commissions as well as what level you’ll be able to earn a percentage of the commissions is determined by your rank and the rank that allows for the entirety of the residual commissions to unlock is the platinum level, where you’ll earn 5% of the total earnings a single level generates.

Various Other Bonuses

There are also other bonuses that Liv offer from a recruitment commission, to generational bonuses and various other bonuses that you probably won’t need to learn about until you’ve understood the aforementioned elements.

Of course if you still want to check out the compensation plan for yourself, watch the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You Need To Be Very Good At Recruiting To Succeed

In order to succeed with Liv, you’ll need to recruit a lot of members, who are hopefully good at recruitment themselves which in turn will mean your rank will increase within the company. The number of autoship commissions you recieve will also increase which ultimately will result in you making a really healthy income.

The fact is that the majority of members aren’t able to achieve this and that’s because they focus too much on making retail sales (which can be profitable but nowhere to the level of recruiting).

That’s why you’ve got to be really good at recruitment as it’s pretty much the only way to succeed with these kinds of companies. There are a couple ways you can go about recruiting, face to face or through lead generation online.

Both ways are legitimate however, I personally I do believe online lead generation is the best way to go about it because you can also sieve out the individuals who aren’t interested which in turn will mean you aren’t getting any pity sign ups that simply don’t want to do this.

All in all, recruitment is probably the most vital skill that any MLM marketer should have otherwise in the end of the day they’ll simply go broke chasing after profits through retails sales instead.

It’s Really Expensive

The other thing I don’t like about Liv is the fact it can cost a lot of money to maintain it.

You’re looking at spending $1.5k per year simply to remain an active member and of course if you manage to recruit a lot of people, in turn generating a lot of income, $1.5k probably won’t seem that expensive at all however, if you’re unable to pick yourself up, over $1.5k is obviously a lot of money to be wasting.

The costs are among the more expensive MLM’s I’ve seen which is why I consider this a bigger negative than it should be.

Most People Fail

In general only around 5% of members tend to make $1k/month within any MLM whilst a measly 1% hit around $2k – $3k a month (around a full time income range).

Although I couldn’t find an income disclosure depicting the earnings from members of LIV, judging from income statements that companies like worldventures, xyngular, lularoe, kyani have, it’s safe to say these numbers won’t be too far from reality.

THE GOOD THINGS

Jeff Has A Lot Of Experience In The Industry

Jeffs’s experience working within the MLM industry is something I guess you could call a good thing but, besides that there’s not really many other standout features the company has. In fact I’d say it’s a pretty generic health and wellness MLM.

IS LIV INTERNATIONAL A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

The good news is that Liv International is not a scam or a pyramid scheme, it’s a legitimate MLM company but, it’s not a company I would recommend you join.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Liv , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Liv and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!
