Is Zyia Active A Scam?(An Activewear Pyramid Scheme?!)

It’s likely that you have come across Zyia Active through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Zyia Active a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Zyia Active review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Zyia Active. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Zyia Active so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Zyia Active that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Zyia Active

OWNER/S: Erin Bradley, Brooke Jackson and Brenda Bradley

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Sportswear MLM

PRICE: $395 + autioship

SUMMARY: Zyia Active is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it’s a legitimate MLM company with some good products available however, it also has a few problems, in the business side of things, that don’t make it the greatest of opportunities to pursue in my opinion.

The heavy emphasis on recruitment in order to succeed, the expensive joining fees, the expensive active wear products which aren’t always up to par in terms of quality and the really low success rate within the MLM scene as whole (which likely includes Zyia), are the main reasons why I wouldn’t recommend promoting Zyia products to others.

FINAL RATING: 1.5/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS ZYIA ACTIVE?

Zyia Active logo

Zyia is a MLM company that focuses on clothing and garments, much like another MLM I’ve checked out called Lularoe and was founded by Erin Bradley, Brooke Jackson and Brenda Bradley in early 2017, making it quite a new establishment.

The company is less about quirky fashion, which is what Lularoe is known for, and more so about providing females with leggings, tops, tanks that are great for when individuals are active, whether it be for the gym, yoga and so on.

As for Zyia’s mission, it’s quite generic where they simply want “to inspire and uplift by making activity a fun and essential part of life.”

Now, that’s the basic gist of the company, as for whether it’s a business opportunity worth pursuing, I’ll try to help you come up with a conclusion throughout the rest of this review.

ZYIA ACTIVE PRODUCTS

Zyia’s products are mostly active wear targeted for women but, there are clothes available for men too.

As for the type of products sold by Zyia, they include leggings, shorts, bras, shirts, tanks, jackets and hats, items which are designed to perform in the “toughest of workouts”.

And from the reviews I’ve seen of them, especially one from a former rep the quality of each item is hit and miss.

Sometimes one of Zyia’s garments are of a higher quality and probably do live up to the hype surrounding them however, in other occasions, for example with leggings, they may be defective in the sense that they’re see through. On other occasions the sizes of the items aren’t always spot on either, even if you know your body size.

Considering, that a pair of leggings cost upwards of $59 (which certainly isn’t cheap) considering the issues with the size and quality being bit of problem, it doesn’t seem like it’s worth the risk spending so much on “potentially” good clothes.

The cheapest items sold by the company seem to be around $30, which is still quite expensive despite being a half the price of the average item in Zyia’s store.

The quality is a little more concerning when you consider Zyia seem to also be pumping out new items every week, which on the surface does seem like a great thing as you’ll always have something new to sell but, with occasional issues on irregular sizing and mediocre to poor quality, it doesn’t make sense to create something new every week.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH ZYIA ACTIVE?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Zyia being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Joining Zyia isn’t a cheap endeavour either and does require you to follow through with a few steps. The first thing you’d need to do is sign up through an already existing member and then you’d need to purchase a starter kit worth around $420 after taxes and shipping ($395 before).

As for what you’ll get within the starter kit, it includes the following items :

  • Business Tools (catalogs, brochures, order forms)
  • $200 Gift Card
  • Navy Copper Charged Tank
  • Cotton Candy Hat
  • Black Adjustable Mesh Bra
  • Black Trainer Vest
  • Gray Level Pocket Light n Tight Hi-Rise Capris

There’s also a mens variation where they get garments designed for men instead of women.

This is before taking into account the other fees such as hosting parties and of course the autoship fee you’ll need to pay in order to remain as an active member within Zyia.

In short, Zyia is not a cheap company to join. It’s very possible that you’d need to invest around $1.5k+ simply to remain an active member for a year, which is a number I find, when compared to other MLM’s, as being among the most expensive prices to pay in order to join a MLM.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

The compensation plan is arguably the most important document that Zyia provides for its members so, that’s why in this section I’ll be going over it to give you a rough idea on how you can earn with the company.

Firstly you should know that there are a bunch of ranks Zyia affiliates can achieve within the company, 11 to be exact and more or less knowing how MLM’s work, the larger number of ranks also means you’d need to recruit a ton in order to move up in rank and have a better chance in succeeding with the company.

Zyia Active affiliate ranks

The image above basically outlines the criteria you’d need to fulfill in order to move up in rank or remain within a rank as a Zyia affiliate.

Retail Commissions

These are commissions you earn for every sale that you personally make. According to the compensation plan this starts of at 20% and can go up to a 25% commission after an affiliate reaches the executive rank within Zyia.

Residual Commissions

In order to earn residually, a member must at least be a junior Representative (rank 2). Zyia appears to pay its members residually through a unilevel structure, which is simply a structure where affiliates can recruit and earn infinitely in the horizontal sense but vertically the earnings are capped. In this case the cap occurs at the 10th level.

Affiliates are able to earn a percentage of the sales volume within in each level and the percentage is determined by how highly an affiliate ranks within the company.

Zyia Active compensation plan

The image above shows how the range for residual commission is anywhere between 11% and 0.5% with Presidential elite members being able to generate the most in terms of residual commissions.

The image also shows override commissions and a rank achievement bonus where you’ll earn money for achieving a higher rank.

If you’re still a little confused and want a more detailed explanation on how the compensation plan works, I’d suggest watching the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You Will Need To Recruit A Ton To Succeed

Although the retail sales are pretty decent, the fact of the matter is that recruitment will still play a major role in whether or not you’ll succeed with this business.

That’s just how it is with MLM companies and besides, you’ve got to admit that recruiting 20 people every month is a helluva lot easier than selling 100+ products every month personally.

Moreover, eventually through recruitment you may not even need to recruit as much later down the line whilst your earnings essentially increase on autopilot due to the residual commissions.

I’m not saying that I like this business model, I don’t, and I’m not saying it’s easy to do this but, in the end of the day if you’re not already good at recruitment or aren’t willing to get good at it, Zyia is definitely not going to be a business opportunity that’ll work out for you.

It’s Generally An Expensive Company To Join And Sell For

The joining costs and even the costs of the items sold by Zyia are a bit too expensive in my eyes, especially when you can join businesses that have the potential to make you full time income within a year for an investment less than $500.

The garments are also a little expensive too, being roughly 50% more than other brands that are arguably of similar quality if not better whilst also being more reliable and consistent in terms of their quality.

The joining costs are probably the biggest problem I have with the company whilst the prices for the items are alright in terms of the commissions you can earn with them so, these are 2 things you should take into account before committing to the business

Most People Will Likely Fail

Although I couldn’t find an income disclosure statement from Zyia, having seen tens of other statements from other MLM’s, I do have a pretty solid idea as to how many people are succeeding within the MLM industry as a whole.

I’ve found that generally 5% of members tend to make around $1k/month whilst only 1% of all members tend to make a full time income of around $2k+/month, which I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you is very miniscule.

Of course there is a chance that Zyia affiliates are making more than the numbers I’ve stated above however, I honestly doubt that my estimated figures are too far off the mark.

THE GOOD THINGS

There isn’t too many concretely positive things about Zyia. The products themselves do look pretty nice and occasionally they are pretty solid quality, even then they’re kind of hit or miss.

Besides this point there isn’t too much else that’s horrible or great about the company, at the moment is just your average, run of the mill, MLM business opportunity.

IS ZYIA ACTIVE A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

Zyia Active is neither a pyramid scheme nor a scam, it’s a legitimate MLM company with some good products available however, it also has a few problems, in the business side of things, that don’t make it the greatest of opportunities to pursue in my opinion.

Of course, in the end of the day the decision is yours and if you truly believe in the company, I don’t think Zyia is the worst company to join but, the fact of the matter is that there are much better and cheaper opportunities out there (like my #1 recommendation) if you’re willing to look elsewhere, that could hopefully help you create sustainable full time income instead.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Zyia Active, feel free to do so in the comments section below and will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Zyia Active and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments.
