Is Powur a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Powur review.
First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Powur. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.
To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Powur so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.
What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Powur that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

WHAT IS POWUR
Powur is a very unique MLM as it’s a company that focuses in the energy sector, primarily in the solar panel Industry. I do know of a few companies that delve into the utilities industries such as Acn and alambit energy but, there’s generally a pretty good reason why most MLM’s don’t delve into this sector of the market.
It’s because it’s hard establish a name in this industry and a lot of people struggle to trust direct marketing companies to be their energy providers.
As for when the company was founded, it was only founded in 2014 by an individual named Jonathan Budd. The company claims that through it’s solar panel installations, it can save the average household $26k and that the panels can increase the value of a home.
Furthermore, the panels also will allow for less pollution and be much better for the climate, if that’s something you care about.
Powur has actually been expanding quite extensively since it started up. In 2015 they partnered up with Solarcity which is a subsidiary company of Tesla’s. In 2017 the company started partnering up with leading solar panel installers and in 2018 the company officially started selling panels across the US.

POWUR’S PRODUCTS
Of course the main type of products Powur sell are solar panels however, technically speaking the company doesn’t sell its own panels. Instead what happens is that one of thier consultants will quote the prices of the panels to potential customers from solar panel dealers and it’s from these solar panel dealers that Powur source the products.
The first establishment powur work with is Solarcity but, they’ve also partnered with other leading solar panel companies such as Baker Electric Solar, CAM Solar, Elevation Solar, Skyline Solar, Solar Energy World, Solterra, SunPower, and Titan Solar Power.
So they have a fair few partnerships going on and it is these partners that will install the solar panels for the consumers. Powur is simply the middle man that brings the solar panel companies together with customers who may want to buy.
HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH POWUR?
As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Powur being no exception.
1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales
2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.
HOW TO GET STARTED
If you want to join Powur, there are a few steps that you will need to take. The joining fees for powur aren’t necessarily super cheap so you will need to be willing to invest a fair bit in order to join.
There will be a few different ranks to choose from when you decide to activate your account and this will be dependant on what package you go for. These packages include :
- Advocate (lowest) : $99 to activate and you’ll make $30 to $45 for every solar appointment you make and also earn $200 for every successful installation
- Advisor (mid-tier) : $299 to activate. You’ll get all the benefits of an advisor but on top of that you’ll also get the chance to earn overrides from your team’s sales.
- AdvisorPRO (highest level) : $299 one time fee and and $29/month will give you access to this level. You’ll be given your own mirror website, landing pages, have access to Powur’s marketing team and lead generation system.
So in turn, if you go for the top level rank, which is what you should do, you’ll need to pay in the region of $600 which obviously isn’t cheap but, it’s not really all to expensive, especially when compared to other MLM’s.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
The compensation plan is a very important documentation for MLM’s and something that you absolutely should learn which is why I’ll briefly be going over it in this section.
But before doing that I want you to know of the different ranks within the company and the criteria necessary to qualify for them.
- Partner – sign up as a Powur affiliate (no MLM commissions)
- Qualified Partner – generate at least three solar proposals
- L1 Partner – personally generate at least five solar proposals (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate nine a month
- L2 Partner – personally generate at least seven solar proposals (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate twenty-five a month
- L3 Partner – personally generate at least ten solar proposals (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate seventy-five a month
- Game Changer – personally generate at least five solar contracts (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate seventy-five a month
- L1 Game Changer – personally generate at least seven solar contracts (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate two hundred a month
- L2 Game Changer – personally generate at least ten solar contracts (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate five hundred a month
- L3 Game Changer – personally generate at least twelve solar contracts (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate one thousand a month
- Hero – personally generate at least fifteen solar contracts (accumulated) and have a downline who collectively generate two thousand a month
As you can see, the company does have a fair few ranks within it which also means you’ll need to do a lot of recruiting in order to reach the top top levels.
Retail Commissions
I’ve already mentioned this above but, Powur will pay you both for getting meetings and also for installations being completed. You’ll make $30 to $45 for every solar appointment you make and also earn $200 for every successful installation.
Residual Commissions
You can earn a 20% commission on all the earnings one of your direct referrals make so this could prove to be very profitable if you recruit very capable sales people into your team. However, it’s through this revenue sharing aspect of the compensation plan where the residual commissions become really worth while.
Powur uses a unilevel structure to determine how much you can earn and the potential for earning more will also be unlocked the higher you rank in the company. There are 6 levels in Powur’s unilevel structure.
The image above shows how much you can earn in this way however, as you can see, you’ll also need a lot of members within your donwline teams in order to unlock the max potential and this recruitment aspect is easily one of, if not the hardest aspect of succeeding with any given MLM company.
20 Year Solar Residual Bonus
This is another interesting bonus where you’ll earn a small residual bonus from every installation you’ve contributed to for the next 20 years.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS
You’ll Need To Be Good At Recruitment And Sales
In the end of the day, you will need to be a very good sales person but, more importantly a great recruiter in order to make the most money with Powur. In terms of the sales aspect, solar panels are far from cheap so convincing many people to purchase one and in turn make you a commission is going to be a lot easier said than done.
Moreover, going through a direct marketing company will make it harder for people to trust that, in this case, powur is legitimate due to the bad rep MLM’s tend to get.
This means that you will need to increase the number of competent individuals in your team who are both good sales people and who want to actually join. This obviously will not be an easy thing to do and a skill that you’ll need to develop along with your sales ability if you want to join Powur.
Therefore, if you don’t have the skill set or aren’t willing to learn how to do so, Powur is unlikely to be a very good business opportunity for you to pursue
Most People Will Not Succeed
The truth is that the majority within any MLM let alone one as hard as Powur will fail. Unfortunately I was unable to find an income statement from powur however, having seen tens of different income disclosure statement from other MLM’s, I can tell you now that the results are unlikely to be great.
It general terms only 5% of members tend to make a decent income of $1k/month whilst only the top 1% manage to hit $2k+ per month.
What’s worse is that a lot the time around 70% are unable to even breakeven.
So yeah, the chances of succeeding with Powur are actually very very slim.
THE GOOD THINGS
Unique MLM Company
The solar panel sector is a little different when it comes to the whole plethora of other MLM’s. Solar panels are only recently being adopted en masse, which is why it could be a decent idea to partner up with powur over other companies like Avon or CorVive which are in 2 of the most saturated market around.
The Commissions Are Pretty Good
The commissions you earn are also pretty solid and another good thing about the company. I know that relative to a solar panel installation, $200 isn’t much but, in the grand scope of things, making money from both appointments and sales makes the compensation plan all the more appealing from powur in my opinion.
Of course the residual commissions are nice too however, that’ll be dependent on how many competent people you can bring in under you, which is in my opinion a lot harder to accomplish over setting up an appointment as a middleman.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION
I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).
Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.
This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

– there is no need to recruit constantly
– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products
