Is Blogging Dead?! No, Not Really And Here’s Why

This is actually a very common train of thought for anyone thinking about creating their own blog. You may think blogs are over saturated and that there’s no point in joining. You may even believe that blogging is a dead industry, especially for someone new getting into it.

To be honest with you, there is some truth to this but, if look at the Internet as a whole, you’d realise that there still are new blogs being created everyday and literally websites made half a year ago, as complete newbies are able to make money with their blogs, sometimes averaging multiple thousands on the 6th month alone.

Don’t get me wrong, over the years it’s become more and more apparent that certain types of blogs have become significantly harder to succeed in but, you’ve got to understand the interenet is an unfathomable entity so no matter how “Saturated” the blogging scene may be, there’s always going to be an opportunity to succeed even in the most competitive of niches m

Look at YouTube for example, so many people, myself included have been thinking for that last 6 or 7 years that becoming successful on the platform is near enough possible yet so many who started a couple years ago are some how killing it on the platform, even in niches that seem to be saturated.

How Are People Still Succeeding In The Blogging Scene In 2019?

There’s a long and short answer to this. The short answer, simply put is the training they have, persistence and consistency. Yeah it’s nothing new but, it really is how most people succeed, even when the market is saturated. As for the long answer, well there’s a fair few reasons why these seemingly new people in the industry are killing it.

Training

Learning how to create a and generate traffic through a blog will be what makes or breaks your success. The good news here is that a lot of training on how to create your first blog, find a great hosting service and even design a awesome logo for your website can be found, for free on YouTube or through other website.

The design of a website is makes the experience for any vistors pleasant and in turn reduces the number of people who leave the page without reading it or clicking on a link to one of your money pages.

Of course design isn’t what I’d claim as being the main problem to solve when starting a blog, the main problem will be to solve the traffic issue, which obviously is a little more complicated than making your website pretty and pleasant for your viewers (at least in the beginning that is).

There are multiple ways to generate traffic to your website but, the first thing you’ll need to do is create content. Content being anything relevant related to you niche, say for example you have a tech based website, you could write content on what technological advancements that may happen within the next 10 years or reviews on newly released technology.

This is the first step you’ll need to look into, you’ll probably delve into a blog that has a fair bit of financial potential and something you’re willing to invest your time into. This inadvertently is also one of the methods to generate traffic to your blog, through high quality SEO (search engine optimized) content that ranks on google and other search engines.

The other sources of traffic can come from social media, word of mouth and paid traffic sources like Facebook or Google ads.

As I said the great thing is that you can find solid free training on how to best optimise your website for traffic for free if you just do a little research however, the free method is generally inefficient because you have to through a ton of different content, some contradicting others. This could get you lost in the process and likely even halt your progress if you don’t see any results.

That’s why I suggest looking into courses because not only are they generally streamlined, showing you what to do in a simple steps but, the course I personally recommend shows you how to start up for free.

My #1 reccomendation (wealthy affiliate) is where I suggest you start, especially if you’re planning to make money through affiliate marketing and maybe move onto other courses when you want to learn from other pros on how to grow a YouTube channel, use more advanced strategies for paid for traffic so on and so forth.

Of course the good thing with wealthy affiliate is that it pretty much has everything you need to find success in the creation of a blog nevertheless, it doesn’t mean there aren’t some things it could be better at.

For the most part though, once you decide to sign up (where you’ll get 10 free lessons), you’ll probably be overwhelmed by the shear abundance of information you’re given so looking elsewhere right of the bat won’t do you too much good anyways.

How Will Consistency And Persistence Equal Success As A Blogger?

I know you’ve heard this kind of thing over and over again but, generally if you continue working on a blog with the right training to plough the way, you’ll be almost guaranteed to succeed, this could happen in 6 months, 1 year, 3 years or even more before you’ll start actually living off your work.

I’m not saying that it’ll take 3 or 5 years for you to succeed but, you have to be willing to look at the long game instead of the short term results we’re trained to perceive will result in us being successful.

Get rich quick systems are for the most part unrealistic and unreliable right? I know playing the long game is, you know, long but, Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither was pretty much any thing else that’s relevant now, amazon was in debt for years before it become the colossal giant it is today, Google was literally built in a garage and so on.

A lot of famous bloggers like making sense of cents or smart passive income for example took a couple years to see giid  results on ther site and now they both make well over $1 million from their once small blogs.

The Internet is vast and has in the last couple decades created hundreds of millionaires and a fair few billionaires, of course the billionaires become such due to innovation however, with a blog there’s actually a proven system that you can follow which has worked for the last few years and continues to work today.

All you have to do is create high quality well optimised content, promote it and you should eventually get to a position where your blog or website is garnering thousands of monthly sales which, hopefully will replace your job.

How Would I Suggest You Go About Creating A Blog

The first step would be to find a niche you’re passionate about, afterall you will be dedicating a lot of time and possibly money (if you hire writers) to that niche so, you definetly don’t want to get burnt out doing it.

If you’re passionate about personal finance or fitness, you could do that or if you’re into maybe golf or American football, you could do that too.

However, you’ve got to keep in mind that certain niches will be highly competitive so, reaching an audience in that way will take a ton of time on your part. I’d also suggest picking a niche where you can reccomend physical products to others, maybe through other affiliate programs.

The mistake that a lot of bloggers may make is thinking that all the money is in the ad revenue Google gives you. This is obviously false, the money you’d make from ads would be negligible from money you’d make through affiliate marketing and even your own products.

Of course ad money can become great later down the road but, affiliate marketing earnings can easily reach thousand within a year if your consistent in publishing quality content and get a decent amount of traffic to decently priced products you recommend.

As for the length of the content you create, you should aim to write around 1000 words (1.5k to 2k is ideal but don’t write beyond what you need to) and you should also follow the SEO steps too (Click here to check out what they are).

Lastly you should always attempt to promote your newly released post to your social media and pretty much rinse and repeat. This is personally what I do and have seen some decent success but, there have also been a few dips due to Google algorithm changes so keep this factor in mind too.

Of course if you stick to writing your own quality content, for the most part, you shouldn’t really suffer any major negative backslashes.

Blogging Definitely Is Not Dead!?

Yes blogs have become a much harder to make work due to the increase in competition however, you’ve got to remember that the majority of individuals who think about creating a blog don’t seem to stick with it long enough to succeed.

A large majority give up after a few months or move onto to the next “shiny object” that’ll help them “strike it rich”. Maybe this new opportunity is legitimate but, dropping things halfway wouldn’t work out with anything right? Not within university, not with getting in shape and definitely not with creating an engaging and successful blog.

I can’t guarantee great results for anyone because the paths we talk do ultimately differ however, let me leave you with a pretty cool quote that will r hopefully resonate with you

winner’s never quit and quitters never win!”
