Is Viiva A Scam?(A Pyramid Scheme EXPOSED!?)(REVIEW)

It’s likely that you have come across Viiva through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Viiva a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Viiva review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Viiva. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Viiva so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Viiva that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Viiva

OWNER/S: Joe Zhou

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Weightloss and travel based MLM

PRICE: $30 + autoship

SUMMARY: There is an argument to be made on Viiva being a pyramid scheme or a scam due to the lack of information that’s provided and the extremely expensive autoship plan which is essential for remaining an active member.

This in turn means recruiting will be more important to succeeding over retail sales and because recruitment itself isn’t at all easy, there’s a very good chance that more or less everyone will not be able to break even within year.

Therefore, I can’t recommend you join Viiva as it’s not an opportunity that the majority of individuals will be able to make work and well, it does show signs of a pyramid scheme too which means there’s a good chance it could go under very soon.

FINAL RATING: 1/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS VIIVA?

Viiva logo

Viiva is weight loss s and travel based MLM company that was initially founded under its original name of Tavala, which launched in 2017 before being bought out by Joe Zhou (the current owner) in 2018.

Being in both the weight loss supplements industry and the travel niche is quite the unique mix of niches, in fact it’s arguably the 2 most competitive niches put into one company which may not make it not make the company a good one to join due to its divided attention but, I’ll still cover as much as I can on Viiva to help you make an educated decision on whether this business opportunity is for you.

As for a little info on its founder, Joe appears to have some experience with MLM’s due to his history of working within a company called Nuskin (which was under fire in China for operating like a pyramid scheme) where he was regarded as one of the best distributors in the business.

After this he worked with another undisclosed company before launching JM in 2009. This later merged with Ocean avenue in 2014 but, everything went down from there and by 2016 the business was mostly finished.

So it’s safe to say Joe knows a thing or 2 about MLM’s and businesses in general even if his ventures haven’t always withstood the test of time.

Right now Viiva is located in Utah, USA but operates in multiple countries as well, such as Canada, the Bahamas, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.

VIIVA PRODUCTS

The first line of products they sell are of course the weight loss ones, which is actually a continuation of Travla’s line up. These products are more so breakfast based and include the following :

  • P3 Probiotic Kiiks – “helps balance healthy flora in your digestive system”, retails at $55 for a box of thirty single-serve sachets
  • Plant Base (Chocolate and Vanilla) – “a nutritious protein base to keep you feeling full, focused and energized”, retails at $100 for a box of thirty single-serve pouches
  • Amazon Superfruit Kiiks – “antioxidants help protect cells, balance the immune system and fight signs of aging”, retails at $75 for a pouch of thirty single-serve sachets
  • Trim Max Kiiks – “assists with weight management, appetite suppression and energy but with a little more intensity”, retails at $75 for a pouch of thirty single-serve sachets
  • Trim Kiiks – “assists with weight management, appetite suppression and energy”, retails at $75 for a pouch of thirty single-serve sachets
  • Green Power Kiiks – “greens improve mental clarity, physical energy and digestive health”, retails at $75 for a pouch of thirty single-serve sachets
  • Extra Smile – “fluoride and peroxide free and brings together a unique combination of oral care ingredients to help protect your teeth”, retails at $22 for a twin pack

These items can also be purchased in bundles too. They are supposed to be manufactured in FDA GMP facilities although it’s hard to take this knowledge at face value so you’ll have to be the judge of it on your own.

The other side of the business, which travel, Viiva simply offer the option to obtain a membership which provides a discount on hotels, flights, cruises, rental cars and other activities. This membership will set individuals back $79.95 and then $70 annually so, it’s not all that expensive.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH VIIVA?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Viiva being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to join, the first thing you’ll need to do is purchase their membership which will cost you $30. After that you’ll have the option to purchase one of their enrollment packs ranging in price from $200 (Start Pack) to $1500 (Build Pack w/ Travel).

After this you’ll also be required to invest 120PV in a monthly autoship plan if you want full access to the company’s compensation plan. 120PV is roughly equivalent to $200 so, you’ll need to pay quite a lot of money simply to get access to their opportunity, which is kind of a red flag in my opinion.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

As the compensation plan is the core component of the business opportunity, it is very important that you learn it. That’s why in this section I’ll be covering it, although quite briefly, so you should go over and learn it in more detail if you’re serious about the opportunity.

Retail Commissions

This is the commission you’ll earn for every sale that you personally make. I couldn’t find the commission amounts as Viiva don’t seem to provide easy access to their compensation plan however, I’d assume it be around 20 – 30%.

Recruitment Commissions

These are commissions affiliates will earn from the first orders of their personally sponsored recruits.

recruitment commission rates are determined by how much PV a personal recruit generates in their first 30 days.

  • generate 250 to 999 PV in your first thirty days and earn a 10% Fast Start bonus
  • generate 1000 PV or more and receive a 15% Fast Start Bonus

After the initial 30 day period, the rates will be determined by the monthly autoship order:

  • have a standing 120 to 249 PV monthly autoship and earn an ongoing 10% Fast Start bonus
  • have a standing 250 PV or higher monthly autoship order and earn an ongoing 15% Fast Start bonus

Residual Commissions Binary

A binary structure is simply when an affiliate is at the the top of the structure and they’re able to recruit 2 personal recruits on the left and right leg. The same applies to their personal recruits and their personal recruits first 2 sponsors for a potentially infinite number of members eligible to join an affiliates team in the vertical sense.

As for how affiliates will get paid, at the end of the week Viiva tallies up new sales volume on both sides of the binary team. This tally determines how much affiliates will earn where they can earn up to 10% of sales volume matched on both sides of the binary team.

The remaining volume on the stronger binary team side is carried over into the following week.

There are also various other bonuses that Viiva have including the matching bonus, Pay+ bonus and the Global pool bonus but, these aren’t essential for you to learn as beginner, which is why I’m not covering it here however, If you still want to learn the rest of the elements, I’d suggest watching the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You’ll Need To Be Good At Recruitment To Succeed

It’s very important that you’re good at recruitment if you want to succeed because that’s where the majority of individuals will make the most money. The autoship plan alone makes it so Individuals will make a lot more money through their recruits simply to stay active, as members will need to invest roughly $200 every month.

This autoship plan means affiliates will be guaranteed profits however, the extremely expensive autoship plan is also a huge red flag and reminiscent of pyramid schemes so, joining the company is certainly not one I’d recommend getting involved because of this factor alone.

Nevertheless, if you do want to join this MLM or even the more legitimate companies out there, you will need to either already be good at recruitment or invest money and time on training to get good at recruitment otherwise you will not succeed.

It’s Way To Expensive

The mandatory autoship simply to gain access to the compensation plan makes joining Viiva super expensive because members will need to invest $2k+ on a yearly basis simply to stay active.

The autoship itself is already a huge red flag but, the fact it’s a super expensive autoship makes Viiva a lot more shady than it already is.

Most People Will Fail

Even though there isn’t any income disclosure statement from Viiva discussing the amount affiliates earn on an annual basis, I’m still very sure that most people will fail.

Having seen many different income statements from other MLM’s, I’ve generally found that 5% of members tend to make. $1k/month and only 1% of all members make a full time income, which is around $2K+/month.

There is potential for Viiva to maybe have better results than the stats I’ve mentioned above but, it’s still unlikely to be much better so, this yet another reason why you should be cautious in joining Viiva or any other MLM for that matter.

THE GOOD THINGS

There honestly isn’t anything good about the company as a whole. I guess Joe’s experience in business may be a positive thing but besides that there’s nothing concretely good about Viiva.

IS VIIVA A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

There is an argument to be made on Viiva being a pyramid scheme or a scam due to the lack of information that’s provided and the extremely expensive autoship plan which is essential for remaining an active member.

This in turn means recruiting will be more important to succeeding over retail sales and because recruitment itself isn’t at all easy, there’s a very good chance that more or less everyone will not be able to break even within year.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Viiva, feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Viiva and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

Thanks
