Is OneHope Wine A Scam? (Worth Joining Or A Pyramid Scheme!?)

It’s likely that you have come across OneHope Wine through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is OneHope Wine a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this OneHope Wine review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining OneHope Wine . For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of OneHope Wine so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at OneHope Wine that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: OneHope Wine (OH)

OWNER/S: Rob Mondavi Jr and Jake Kloberdanz

TYPE OF PRODUCT: wine based MLM

PRICE: $198 + $99/year

SUMMARY: The good news is that OH is a legitimate MLM company, it isn’t a pyramid scheme or a scam however, this doesn’t mean it’s an opportunity I would personally recommend you pursue.

I have to say that I do like that the company is very active when it comes to being charitable and its life span of over 10 years and counting also adds to its credibility but, I’m not sure if these are good enough reasons to buy into the system.

The heavy emphasis on recruiting, the complicated compensation plan and the fact that MLM’s in general have a very bad track record when it comes to helping people generate a good income online, makes it hard for me to recommend you join OH.

It’s nice that there aren’t any major lawsuits or complaints regarding the company but, it’s just very average and probably won’t be the most cost effective or reliable way to make money online or off.

FINAL RATING: 2/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS ONEHOPE WINE?

Onehope wine logo

OH is a MLM company that obviously focuses on the wine industry sector much like another MLM I’ve reviewed called Travelling Vineyard. It was founded by Rob Mondavi Jr and Jake Kloberdanz in 2007 so it’s quite the established entity.

OH is a company that’s based in California and is quite charitable too as they donate half of their profits through their OneHope Foundation. This foundation has raised over $3 million and donated multiple different charities which is without a doubt a very commendable accomplishment.

However, their charitable endeavours don’t necessarily mean that the business opportunity will be great too, which is why I’ll go over it here, I’ll discuss the pros and cons so that you can come to decision on whether it’s worth your time.

ONEHOPE WINE PRODUCT LINE

OH specialise in selling beverages like coffee but as their name would suggest, the company’s mainline products are the wine that they sell.

Onehope wine products

The company offer various different wines from reds, whites, rose, sparkling and more. The wines are generally regarded as being solid but not really anything special, then again opinions will vary person from person so there are going to be individuals who don’t enjoy the wines too.

However, one thing that may deter people from purchasing these particular wines from OH is the pricing. Other MLM’s within this sector tend to sell wines at the $20 range whilst the majority of wines that OH sell are in the $30 range and even going as high as $100 for a single bottle.

There are also multi-pack offerings which cost around $150+ and in terms value per item they’re probably the best option to go for but, it doesn’t mean many will necessarily buy into these packages considering the average reaction to the quality of the offered wines.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH ONEHOPE WINE?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, OneHope Wine being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

If you want to join the company, you can choose to buy one of 3 starter kits.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

OH’s compensation plan is actually a very long pdf document consisting of 36 pages so, there’s a lot you’ll need to learn if you were to buy into the system and promote their beverages.

Of course I won’t go over everything but, I will discuss some of the more core elements to the plan so that you have a rough idea on how some of the main money making areas work.

But first I want you to know the number of different ranks there are for members.

  • Cause Entrepreneur
  • Lead Cause Entrepreneur
  • Senior Cause Entrepreneur
  • Executive Cause Entrepreneur
  • Director
  • Lead Director
  • Senior Director
  • Executive Director
  • Senior Executive Director
  • National Executive Director

In total there are 10 different ranks which is quite a lot but far from the most I’ve seen within other MLM’s, where sometimes there can be upwards of 14 ranks!

Of course 10 is still a lot and the requirements for each of them aren’t going to be easy to achieve, unless you recruit a ton of people into your downline and they basically contribute to your stats, in turn allowing you to rank up.

Retail Commissions

The first way to make money with OH is via retail commissions. These are commissions you earn per sale and they can range from 20% to 25% depending on your rank within the company

Residual Commissions

The second method of making money and how the majority of individuals will make money with OH is through their residual commissions. Basically what you do in order to make commissions in this manner is recruit members into your downline team, they recruit, their personal recruits sponsor someone and the cycle continues.

In terms of how much you get paid, you’ll get a percentage of the amount of income each of your downline levels generate, with the levels and amounts you earn increasing the higher you rank within the company.

That’s the basic gist of it.

There are also other various bonuses such as personal sponsoring bonus where you earn a commission from kit sales and other incentives you can check out within OH’s 36 page document.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

You Need To Be Good At Recruiting

In order to succeed with OH you will need to be very good at recruiting. Making normal retail sales can be somewhat profitable for some but, the majority would be unable to generate $5000 sales a month to make atleast $1k/month let alone a full time income.

So, the next step would be to build a team and take a percentage of their revenue, in turn meaning you won’t need to do anywhere near as much work as would be required through just direct sales. However, recruiting people into your donwline team is arguably a harder skill to master.

Most individuals struggle with it and sometimes even ask family and friends to join (this is not a good idae BTW) and then they realise they’ve spent thousands on items with no profits or even general positive results to show for their hard work.

That’s why you’ve got to master how to recruit people, particularly individuals who are interested in the opportunity and not just family or friends that join out of pity.

Compensation Plan Is A Little Complicated

The compensation plan being 36 pages and in turn slightly complicated to understand is another negative that some may have but, it’s not really the biggest of problems in the grand scheme of things.

Most People Will Fail

As for what the biggest reason to not join OH is, it’s the fact that the majority of members won’t profit with the opportunity.

Firstly I want to preface this by saying that I couldn’t find official documentation on the earning figures from members however, having seen tens of different income disclosure statement from direct competitors like Travelling Vineyard and other MLM’s like worldventures and kyani and, the majority will not succeed.

In general, it seems like only 5% of members are making $1k/month and only 1% are making a full tile income of $2k+ per month.

Of course the numbers could be a lot better or even a lot worse for OH however, I can tell you now that it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to succeed, unless you figure out a solid recruiting strategy as that’s pretty much the only way people will succeed.

THE GOOD THINGS

Been Around A While

This company was established in 2007 so the fact it’s still around after a decade is a testament to the business as a whole, especially when you consider most companies go under within 10 years.

Although this isn’t a huge pro, it certainly does add to OH’s credibility.

The Company Is Very Charitable

Over the years OH has donated over $3 million to charitable causes through their foundation. This is obviously a nice gesture on their part considering they part with some of their profits to contribute to this. This isn’t necessarily a positive regarding the business but, it does make the company a lot more admirable when looking at it from the outside.

IS ONEHOPE A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

The good news is that OH is a legitimate MLM company, it isn’t a pyramid scheme or a scam however, this doesn’t mean it’s an opportunity I would personally recommend you pursue.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding OH , feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about OH and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!

Thanks
