WHAT IS A KEYWORD RESEARCH TOOL?

A keyword research tool is a tool that helps Internet marketers find the best keyword to base a piece of content around. Moreover, a keyword research tool helps online marketers to find the best possible keyword, statistically to get more traffic to their website or YouTube channel.

That’s the primary function of a keyword research tool, to get new people and old readers/viewers to click on your content. It is so you can find the ‘perfect’ title for your content that actually is organised to rank well on search engines, whether it be Google, bing or YouTube.

Now where will you find a service that will help you in this respect?

That’s where jaaxy comes in.

WHAT IS JAAXY?

Jaaxy is a tool that focuses primarily on researching keywords. It does this through inputing keywords that you want to find out information about into Jaaxy’s search bar.

Once you have written a keyword that you’d like to research, multiple columns with statistics will pop up. These section include the average monthly traffic, expected traffic, QSR, SEO, KQI and domain availability

Average Monthly Traffic

This column will show you how much traffic a keyword receives, on average per month. This section in general will be a crucial part on deciding if a keyword is worth investing in or not ( for the most part…). Obviously, a higher number is better in this situation so you should always look out for high traffic keywords.

I personally find the section to be one of the more important sections to look at when conducting your keyword research. This is purely because I would rather have more traffic find my post over not finding it. I’m sure a lot of other Internet marketers or bloggers feel the same.

If you are beginner I would suggest that you stick to 100-200 traffic a month per post. This way you’ll at least be getting traffic as well as also balancing out the competitiveness of a keyword.

Expected Monthly Traffic

This column shows you the expected traffic  you will receive if you were to be on the first page of the search results for a search engine. Again, much like the average monthly traffic, you will want your average monthly traffic’s numerical value to be high too.

This is because if the value is higher, you will be more likely to get more readers/viewers per post.

The average monthly traffic and expected monthly traffic have a positive correlation with each meaning if the monthly searches increase, so will the traffic you receive (if your post is in the first page that is).

QSR

QSR stands for quoted search results and in this context just basically stands for how competitive a keyword is. The lower the number in the QSR section, the less competitive the keyword.

This means that when doing research, you should look to find keywords that are really really low in value because by doing that, once you write your content and post it, it has a higher chance of ranking in the first page of Google.

If you’re starting out I would suggest that you stick within the range of 30-50 in competition. This way you’ll actually manage to rank your posts a lot sooner as opposed to using a keyword with 150 QSR and ranking it a lot later. I would suggest you maximum upper limit at 100 QSR which is reasonable number but, if you can help it, pick a keyword with a lower QSR.

KQI

KQI stands for keyword quality indicator. This column essentially states whether the keyword is worth pursuing or not.  If the KQI is great(green) , it will mean that the keyword is worth using, if the KQI is normal(yellow) then it will mean that the keyword can be used but isn’t the best option whilst a poor(red) KQI means the keyword is definitely not worth using.

Domains And SEO

This section just let’s you know what domain names are available for a specific keyword.

I don’t personally have much use for this but if you on the other hand are interested in flipping domain names for profit then this section will be a lot more useful.

The SEO section just lets you know how well optimised a keyword is for the search engines, generally you’ll want this number to be between 90-100 but in terms of its importance in the overall Keyword research process, I would say that it’s not as important as the other sections, so don’t fret to hard over this section.

The Most Useful Sections Are…

All of these columns are useful information in their own right but, in my experience of using the tool, I’ve found that the 3 most useful sections and the sections which I personally consider the most useful when doing research, are the monthly average traffic, the expected traffic and the QSR.

This is because I have found that these 3 sections provide you with statistics that show whether or not a keyword will rank and of course the main objective of a keyword research tool is to help rank your keywords.

In terms of numbers, if you’re a beginner I would suggest that you stick within the 100-200 range for monthly average traffic as well as the 30-50 range in competition. The amount of expected traffic will likely be 30-60 but, if you continue to post articles and reviews regularly those numbers will add up and the traffic you’ll receive on your website will definitely increase

I’m only suggesting those numbers because it is the most balanced numbers I can find however, if you mange to find a keyword with a 400-500 traffic per month with an QSR of 10-20, that will obviously be a lot better keyword to go for.

One more thing, even though I’ve suggested those numbers, you don’t always have to stay within that range. If the monthly traffic is a little lower and if the QSR is a little larger, writing a post on a keyword like that won’t be too big deal.

JAAXY’S OTHER USEFUL FEATURES

Jaaxy gives you more than just a keyword research tool to assist you in your research. Down below I will discuss the useful functionality of its other more secondary tools and ultimately will state whether or not they are worth using.

The Alphabet Soup Tool

This tool can be used to find keyword to do research on. It works in the following way: you type in a keyword, the tool then finds words relevant to the initial keyword you typed in mixed up with all the letters from a to z to give you even more potential search results, for example if you type ‘pets’ into the search car,  this is what will pop up:

– pets +a

– pets +b

– pets +…z

By doing that search results such as ‘pets urns and pets caskets’ and ‘exotic pet trader pets sale’ and so on will be suggested.  Basically, the reason why you would use this tool is so you can do some in-depth research into specific keywords that might be fun to write content about.

The suggested keywords provided through the alphabet soup tool can be researched further via the keyword research function, in order to find out if the keyword is good or bad in terms of statistics. This way the alphabet soup tool can help you find some gems to base your content on.

You can also use the alphabet soup technique on the Google search bar. I personally believe that this tool is a lot more efficient over trying it out on Google. That’s why I personally do find this tool to be pretty useful.

Saved Lists

This tool is a very basic tool, it’s basically used to save any keywords that you like. This will obviously be great if your going to be doing a lot of research.

By doing a lot of research you are obviously going to come across a lot of keywords that you believe are good, this is where saving these keywords and coming back to them later will be beneficial because it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll be able to remember them all.

I don’t really use this feature too much but for what its worth, it does seem to do it job well when i actually have decided to use it.

Search History

This tool is pretty easy to explain. The search history tool will allow you to see what you have researched in the past. Sometimes you do forget what you have researched, maybe in the past you had found a great keyword but had now forgotten the exact keyword you were researching.

In situations like that the search history will definitely come in handy which is why this tool is also pretty useful through my experience in using it too.

Search Analysis

The search analysis tool is useful to see who is ranking for a keyword you are interested in. It allows you to research what articles rank not only on Google but Bing and yahoo as well. This way you can figure out ways to rank you articles on all the major search engines.

You can figure out how your competition is ranking and find strategies to outrank them for example, there may not be a video made yet on your desired keyword meaning that if you are to make a video, it might just rank on the search engine,

Moreover, if the number 1 article only has 1000 words written, you could improve the potential in ranking your keywords by writing 2000-3000.

The search analysis tool is a great tool to do research on your competition which in turn will assist you in out ranking them and getting more traffic to your posts.

Affiliate Program Tool

This tool helps you to research on affiliate programs. It finds affiliate programs by going through popular affiliate programs such as click bank, linkshare etc and pretty much aims to centeralise the affiliate research process.

I’ve not used this feature very much but for the small amount of time that I’ve actually used it, I have found it to be very limiting in its usage. Although it does allow you to find affiliate programs within some of the more popular affiliate services, it’s core affiliate researching function is pretty limiting.

I personally feel that just researching a affiliate program on Google is lot less limiting. By just typing in ‘ a niche’ and ‘affiliate program’ consecutively, a whole lot of affiliate programs based around your search will pop up and then you are good to go as opposed to being limited by popular programs only.

That’s why as I’ve said already I really don’t find the tool to be very useful.

Brainstorm Tool

This is a list of topics which are popular,  that are being searched on websites such as Twitter, Google, Yahoo and Amazon. The topics that are shown in the brainstorm aren’t always related to your niche, which means you will more likely than not,  have to get creative with the information provided.

You will see a lot of politics, TV shows and new technology based topics listed here. As these topics don’t fall under my niche I don’t really have much reason to use it but, if it does fall under a niche that you are pursing then it could be useful.

Siterank Feature

Siterank is cool new feature on Jaaxy that allows you to check how well your piece of content ranks on Google, bing and yahoo. This way you can manage your posts and if necessary update to help improve the rankings of your post.

Normally to check where you post ranks you would need to go into an incognito tab and search through there until you find your content. Thankfully in the site rank feature you don’t nearly need to spend as much time as that to see where your post ranks. This feature overall looks to save you a lot of time.

Another cool feature within siterank for long term tracking is the auto track feature. This feature can be set to track the rankings of your post within different periods of time and can be a good motivational tactic in your part.

It can be especially motivating if a few months down the line you see one of your lowly ranked posts making it to the first page. That would most definitely be a great ego boost for you and will definitely keep you consistent in creating content, which can be stressful (believe me… I know).

JAAXY’S TRAINING

Jaaxy has 4 training videos each at least 15 minutes in length. These will provide a basic knowledge on how to use the service. I’ve never actually needed to use the training purely because I was taught how to use Jaaxy through a training video on Wealthy Affiliate.

However, if you haven’t already learned how to use the tool, the training videos should at the very least, teach you the basics on how to use the service.

SUPPORT PROVIDED IN JAXXY

I haven’t yet needed to ask for any support in Jaaxy but considering its brother company, Wealthy Affiliate and how great it’s support is, I would be surprised if the support provided in Jaaxy isn’t up to par.

Moreover, considering that due to recent developments that Jaaxy is now wealthy affiliates main keyword research tool, the support provided for the tool without a doubt will in my opinion be very good just like it is in wealthy affiliate.

PRICE

There are 2 main prices for Jaaxy:

The pro version which is $49 and the enterprise option which is $99.

The pro version will give you access to all the features on jaaxy whilst enterprise will look to further increase the speed of the service as well as provide you with a few more functional features to help you out on your researching.

I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying that the price for this tool is pretty darn steep which I’m sure will be a major turnoff for a lot of perspective buyers however, you also got ask yourself this question when deciding to buy the service

“will this service help me make more money?”

If the answer is yes to that question, I would highly recommend purchasing this service, if the answer is no, then you don’t have to.

Actually, if you don’t want purchase the pro or enterprise versions you can always try out Jaaxy for free. Jaaxy does give you the opportunity to try out 30 searches for free meaning if somehow you have changed your mind, you can always upgrade.

As of recent events, Jaaxy as I have said already is Wealthy Affiliate’s main keyword research tool which means that if you are to sign up to Wealthy Affiliates premium program, you will also have the ability to utilise Jaaxy’s keyword research tool as much as you want.

On top of that, the pro and enterprise purchase prices will decrease significantly if you buy wealthy affiliate premium service. Jaaxy pro will decrease from $49 to $19 and enterprise will decrease from $99 to $49. This is significantly price than previously if or when you to decide upgrade, honestly I wouldn’t feel too wrong describing it as a steal.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON JAAXY

Jaaxy is in my opinion the best keyword research tool that I’ve used, it’s fast, reliable and packed with a ton of features that really give a ton of value as opposed to being purely just a single tool focusing on keyword research alone.

I understand that there are a couple features that aren’t useful (at least personally for me) as well as the somewhat ridiculous price tag if you don’t decide to bundle it together with Wealthy Affiliate but, as an overall package I feel it definitely provides one of the best keyword researching experiences out there.

  1. Hi Amhil

Is it possible to use Jaaxy for long keywords as well?
I find pretty difficult to find a good niche what is short but not used so often. Therefore I am looking for a tool what can help me to find profitable keywords or suggest some keywords what are similar to my topic
    Thanks,
    Regards, Marty

    • Yes it definitely possible to find long keywords with jaaxy. All you have to do is use the alphabet soup tool and you will be given a ton of long-tail keywords to chose from. You can then see how competitors the keywords are by putting them into the research tool.

You may need to do that fair few times but eventually you will definitely find a keyword that has low competition and a fair bit of traffic meaning that the keyword will have a potential of being profitable.

I hope that answers your question

  2. I have used Jaaxy for a long time and can only give it 10 of 10. Like it a lot.
And what I like too is that it has developed so much. For example, you can now brainstorm much more than before. And, like other factors, in a very simple way.
In my opinion is one of the best pluses with using Jaaxy how simple it is to use, are you agree?

  3. I am an avid user of Jaaxy and I can attest that it is a great keyword tool. I do agree with you that it is pricey, but I think it’s worth it. Searching is easy, and I like the suggested options it offers for different keyword combinations.

As for all of the features, I probably don’t use everything I could, there are a lot of options. Overall, I like the functionality and really feel like it’s an important part of my niche website. I use the Pro version and it’s nice to be able to have 3 queries at once. I also save keywords to lists all the time.

Anyway, there is a lot of functionality with Jaaxy and I think you did a great job covering all of the features.
