Is Valentus A Scam?(A Pyramid Scheme In Disguise!?)(REVIEW)

It’s likely that you have come across Valentus through an email list, on social media or got it recommended by a friend or family member.

Is Valentus a scam? The reasons why you’re here is because you have want answers right so, that’s what I’m going to provide for you within this Valentus review.

First and foremost I must commend you for actually doing a bit of extra research before committing to joining Valentus. For all you could have known, the product could be a major scam so the fact you’re here right now, researching whether or not that’s the case is a pretty smart move on your part.

To be fully transparent with you, I am personally not a member of Valentus so I can assure you that I will not attempt to sell you it unless of course it’s worth investing in.

What I will aim to do is provide you with an unbiased 3rd party look at Valentus that will hopefully help you to make the best decision you can in the end.

PRODUCT NAME: Valentus

OWNER/S: Dave Jordan

TYPE OF PRODUCT: Coffee Based Health and Wellness MLM

PRICE: $29 + $59.95 – $499.95 + monthly autoship

SUMMARY: Valentus is not officially recognised as a pyramid scheme or scam by governing bodies like the FTC however, considering everything the company has gone through in its 5 years of business and the lengths at which Dave has been willing to break the rules in order to make a little extra money, it’s hard not to at the very least put it in the same category as the pyramid schemes I’ve seen over the years.

As for why I would not recommend joining, it’s because recruitment will play a huge role in how successful you’ll be, they continue to use shady and illegal ingredients within the products and have even dealt with a lawsuit as a result, Dave has done exploited his own top recruiters just so he could make a little more cash and of course the really low success rates within the MLM scene as a whole.

I personally would not recommend working with Valnetus as it just is not a very good MLM whatsoever.

FINAL RATING: 1/5

RECOMMENDED: No

WHAT IS VALENTUS?

Valentus logo

Valentus is a health and wellness based MLM that focuses on selling coffee aimed to both make healthier and lose weight. The company was initially launched in 2014 by a guy named Dave Jordan and currently operates within Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Valentus owner dave jordan

As for a little background on Dave, he appears to have a fair bit of experience within the MLM industry having previously worked for another company called Melaleuca, where he was even a top recruiter.

However, for some reason he was kicked out.

There isn’t much information on why he got kicked from the company however, I’m almost certain it was because some shady shizz that he did.

The reason I say this is because even within Valentus Dave’s reputation with his consultant ls isn’t great either. A lot of Valentus’ top consultants have said that Dave took over their downlines, changed their downlines without permission and even completely took the commissions made from downlines of top consultants.

In fact an ex top recruiter of Valentus even went out of his way to create a competing coffee  MLM Company called Cellius in order to basically get back at Dave and his rumored despicable behaviour with his consultants.

Valentus has even been exposed for using illegal ingredients within their products where in 2019 their Slimroast coffee tested positive DMHA (which is illegal in New Zealand) DMMA (which is only available through prescription) and amphetamines. Check this article out for more info on the subject.

Even before the aforementioned incident above, in 2017 Valentus got in trouble with the authorities for their UK branch where the ingredients used within the coffee was deemed to be illegal there. This ultimately lead to the coffee suppliers filing a $3.18 million lawsuit against them.

Eventually a confidential agreement on this lawsuit was reached but, this just goes to show even though Valentus has barely been in business for 5 years, the company and the owner just are not worth getting involved with as it’s clear all this opportunity revolves around is making Dave money, even if it means screwing his consumers and recruiters over.

What Do Consumers Think Of Valentus’ Products?

According to users of the products within trustpilot, Valentus’ products do seem to work or at the very least worked in the past worked.

However, as I mentioned above Valentus have gone created technically illegal coffee before so, there’s always the possibility that the reason users are seeing results is because of their use of illegal or restricted ingredients.

Moreover, the products are quite expensive too so, when you take into account the history behind the corporation and it essentially being illegal in the UK because of this history, even if the products have woked for some, you’d be taking a bit of a risk consuming their coffee.

On another note, the customer service they provide is horrendous too!

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH VALENTUS?

As is the case with pretty much all MLM businesses there are 2 ways to make money with them, Valentus being no exception.

1. The first method is by directly selling the product to other individuals and in return make a commission for the sales

2. You make money through your recruits and downline, by getting residual income by following and meeting certain criteria as well as make money through bonuses and incentives due to meeting company set goals.

HOW TO GET STARTED

If you want to join Valentus and actively promote the company, you’d need to purchase one of their starter kits. This in turn will determine you rank within the company.

The starter kits offered include the following :

  • Basic $59.95 – 1 box (50BV)
  • Starter $129.95 – 3 boxes (100BV)
  • Advanced $199.95 – 6 boxes (150BV)
  • Business Builder $499.95 – 16 boxes (400BV)

You’ll also need to invest $20 to activate your account and maintain a minimum of a 50bv autoship every month.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

The compensation structure has many elements to it that you will need to study in order to make money with Valnetus. Within this section of the review I’ll briefly be going over the core ways to make money with Valentus to give you a rough idea of how you’ll be able to profit.

Retail Commissions

For every sale that an affiliate makes Valentus will pay them a commission.

In this case the commission is determined as the difference between the wholesale price of a product and the retail price at which you will hopefully sell it at. This should work out to be a 25% profit.

Residual Commissions

There a multiple different forms of residual commission that Valnetus offer but, the main one is cycle based binary structure which pays every time a specific criteria is met.

The structure used is a binary one which means that as an affiliate you will be placed at the top of the structure and would be able to recruit one individual in your left and right legs. Your recruits will follow this pattern as will their recruits allowing for you to have a potentially infinite number of recruits, vertically, within your team.

In order to get paid out, affiliates will need to generate 200BV on one leg and 100BV on the other. This in turn will trigger a cycle and pay out $20.

You’ll be paid out weekly and you can also accumulate and earn from as many cycles as is possible within the one week period.

There are also various other bonuses such as the Matching Binary Team Bonus, A Car Bonus, A Global Pool Bonus and a legacy coded bonus but, these are more advanced and not worth learning as a beginner.

Of course if you’re still curious as to how they work, you can check out the video below.

THE NOT SO GOOD THINGS

Recruitment Is Crucial For Success

Although you can make a full time once through just retail sales, the fact of the matter is that recruitment is just far more lucrative and won’t even require you to do as much upfront later down the road.

Of course I’m not personally a fan of the recruitment but, taking into account the mandatory autoship requirement, if you can recruit someone who stays active as opposed to you making a one time sale every time in order to make a commission, the whole Valnetus business model clearly points towards recruitment being the main money maker.

Therefore, if you’re no good at recruitment or aren’t willing to get good at it if you aren’t already, I’d suggest you not waste your time on Valnetus.

They’ve Dealt With Lawsuits

In the past they’ve dealt with a lawsuit as a result of producing illegal products within UK borders. Although the official settling fees aren’t open to the public, I’m pretty sure that it’d be upwards of a million considering the formulater wanted $3.18 million.

Now because of this fiasco, Valnetus is very restricted within the UK and can even lead to UK consultants being fined if they are unable follow standardised procedures.

Furthermore, more recently they were even called out for using illegal amphetamines in New Zealand.

To me it’s pretty clear that Valnetus are unlikely to change their ways and will likely continue their ways in producing products that’s just aren’t legal in order to stand out from the crowd, which of course could be very problematic for anyone wanting to promote the products.

The Owner Is Very Untrustworthy Character

Dave is a very shady character as far as I can tell due to a number of reasons. Firstly, he’s been reported as essentially stealing money from his top recruiters. Secondly, he was also kicked out by Melaleuca for being a shady character as well and well… Neither of these points paint Dave as a trustworthy guy.

In short, he’s just not a very cool guy to work for because even if somehow you became a top affiliate within Valentus, don’t expect him to be even a little grateful to you for helping his company thrive.

The Chances Of Success Are Minimal

Valentus aren’t very transparent about how much their affiliates are making, which is a little concerning, nevertheless, having seen tens of different MLM income disclosure statement over the years, I do have a pretty solid idea as to how much affiliates are likely to be earning working for Valnetus.

Generally I’ve found that only 5% of all members tend to make an income of around $1k/month whilst a much smaller 1% of all members tend to make a full time income around $2k+/month.

Moreover, around 70%+ of all members are likely not even making enough to break even.

I’m not saying that these are the exact figures but, I doubt they’re too far off from what Valnetus’ affiliates are actually making.

THE GOOD THINGS

One positive I could point out is that the company had been around for 5 years and that their coffee’s have actually worked for some people.

However, the reason why Valentus is moderately successful is due to all the shady shizz that Dave has been doing over the years and the lawsuits on top of this just do not make it a very trustworthy company to work for.

IS VALENTUS A PYRAMID SCHEME/SCAM?

Valentus is not officially recognised as a pyramid scheme or scam by governing bodies like the FTC however, considering everything the company has gone through in its 5 years of business and the lengths at which Dave has been willing to break the rules in order to make a little extra money, it’s hard not to at the very least put it in the same category as the pyramid schemes I’ve seen over the years.

I personally would not recommend working with Valnetus as it just is not a very good MLM whatsoever.

MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

I personally will always recommend against using a MLM business model to make money, not because you can’t make money through it (you totally can) but, the system has always seemed shady to myself and is kinda synonymous with the likes of a pyramid scheme or scams (MOBE and Digital altitude).

Instead I prefer working with something created through ones own means and is ultimately dependent on yourself and your work ethic alone.

This method I’m talking about is affiliate marketing.

The reasons as to why I recommend it over MLM based structures are because

– there is no need to recruit constantly

– it is a legitimate method that has been working consistently and continues to grow as more businesses want individuals to promote products

– and because it is free to start up, no unnecessarily large start up funds needed.

The service I recommend is Wealthy Affiliate. It’s free to sign up to and will get you set up and ready to start your affiliate marketing journey within minutes, as it did for me when I begun my journey.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me regarding Valentus, feel free to do so in the comments section below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have your own thoughts about Valentus and would like to talk about it, again feel free to do so in the comments below!
